I know you prefer beer to meds...but I think you better stick to the meds...
We have a friend who doesn't listen to his doctors...So I looked up Gout on
the net...
You ever seen the pictures of the Damage it does?????
Luckily???I only have psuedogout...
Foods don't effect me..so I can't quit eating them to make me feel better
:( But the meds help when I am in a flare....

At least for me I found the gout flares were usually caused by some sort of
minor injury to a joint. Scrape a knuckle on something and the whole hand
might react for months.
All food does for me is make the already damaged toe I have swell and burn.
Just not worth it.
But if I just stay on the allepurinol I don't (so far) have a problem.

Yep, that's what I did, I stubbed my toe and the foot flared up.
But I drank some Moe's tonic and the foot is much better now, enough to
take the dogs for a long walk. Off to the park. You nattering nabobs
of negativity have a nice day.

the human mind is a powerful thing, isn't it? you may have even gotten the
same result from a lovely piece of chocolate, or a glass of n**i. meaning,
it sounds more like "the placebo effect". hey, and i'm not knocking the
effects of placebos, either. however, will the beer stop or slow down the
damage your gouty joints are incurring?--you'll need clinical follow-up to
see.

Yep, that's what I did, I stubbed my toe last Sunday and the foot
flared up. But I drank some more of Moe's tonic this morning and the

Yeah,,, but I do not have gout. Have another round,,, it helps with kidney
stones she said. Enjoy your walk with you dog... and pick up your feet
because the last time I took my dog for a walk,,, I nearly broke my wrist
because I didn't.

Moe, I just read your messages here and a few days ago, and see Moe's
Treatment is lite beer with water. You tried eating cherries and
other stuff.
So here's my question - have you tried the water without beer?
The idea is to disolve the crystals in your joints. The folk remedy
is cherry *juice*, not cherries. I've often wondered if drinking the
juice, was not just to get people to drink a lot of water anyway.
The medical advice is to (a) stop eating bad stuff, and (b) drink a
lot of water, and (c) try the prescription stuff. Again, the point is
the water. Drink as much as you can, without knocking off your
electroyltes and causing even WORSE problems!
I'm glad you have a formula that works for you. If you're a beer
drinker anyway, switching to lite and adding the water is two steps in
the right direction! Just suggesting that it might work even better
with water after *every* lite beer! And throw in a few cherries just
for luck, why not?
I've had a couple of attacks of gout over the years, and sumbitch it
hurts. Diet and water and some cherry juice has so far fixed me up.
FWIW.
