How I now deal with gout

I had gout 6 months ago and it would not go away.  I'd been to the
doctor and got medication for pain and the standard course of treatment
and it kind of helped but the gout came back, again and again,  once in
my ankle!  I was on crutches that day.  I ate cherries, I watched my
diet, I did everything I could do but I still had gout for a month and
it wasn't real bad but it would not go away.   After a month of limping
along,  I finally decided on my own that a lot of beer might just solve
the problem.  The gout problem could get worse but it wasn't getting
better and I didn't see that I had much to lose, I didn't want to start
the preventive medicine for gout because of the side effects.  So, I got
a case of 3.2 Natural light,  I suppose it doesn't have the purines?
Anyway a day later and the gout was almost gone.   This goes against
everything I've read,  but drinking the beer and lots of it in a short
time clears up my gout.   I stubbed a toe Sunday,  by Monday evening
gout was coming on big time,  I had to use a crutch to walk Tuesday
morning or walk on the side of my foot.  Back to the beer and by Tuesday
evening the gout was gone enough I could take the dogs for a walk.  The
stubbed toe still hurts but the gout is gone.   I'd like to see if this
might work for others.   I've known one other that tried the 6 pack cure
maybe two 6 packs? and it worked for him also.
All the common sense things apply, ask your doctor first(he will say
don't do it),  don't mix alcohol with medicines, don't drive,  don't
operate heavy machinery,  be aware women in bars may appear better
looking then they really are,  it may be addictive or habit forming,
etc, etc.
Seriously,  this is what I do now when gout appears and it works for
me, and it works fast.   In the name of science and medical research why
not try it?  Once again I'd suggest some kind of low point beer, and a
light beer, something that gets you peeing like a Japanese race horse (I
suspect that is actually what causes it to work) and see if it might be
a gout cure?

Hi Moe,,,,,  Your story sure made me smile.   I used to work for the brewery
that makes Natural Light and it sure is not a cure for Gout but any light
beer might be better for your than full strength beer.  The best would be no
beer at all and that is the truth.
Those Gout crystals are still in the places they were and do not go away
very fast especially if you are adding more to those places.   There is only
one way to get rid of Gout and its taking the medicine the doctor prescribed
and changing your eating and drinking to what the doctor tells you.
OOooohh, you can see if you can get away with a little of this or that
but in the end you are going to have to face up to the fact that you have
Gout and it hurts and does damage to your body and the doctor is right.
Change your lifestyle.

I hear you,  but yesterday at this time I could not walk out to check
the tomato plants.  With the beer cure,  well call it a treatment, by
evening I was walking the dogs and took them for another walk this
morning.  One thing I forgot to mention is to drink 16 oz of water every
three or maybe four beers.  I'm hoping some other people will at least
try it and report back if it does or doesn't work.

Dam it Moe,,,, you are not listening or you do not want to hear,,,,, now you
want to take other people down with you.
Let me ask you a question,,,,, are you man enough to stop drinking beer?
My thoughts,,,, I do not think so.     BUT  ya know what my thoughts do not
mean a dam thing to your pain and Gout.   Its your thoughts and are you
willing to do what is required to handle Gout???   My thoughts again,,, I do
not think so and its up to you to prove,,, not me.
Let me ask you a question please and you can answer to for yourself if
you want to,,,, you have nothing to prove here,,,,  How bad do you think
Gout gets?   Are you going to find out for yourself?  I will be positive in
my reply, I think so.   My last reply which is worth about as much as the
first reply,, nothing if the doctor is not listened to.

Once again I hear you,  the gout is now gone and I don't have
anything to prove except what worked for me.   I've had gout off and on
for 10 years and at the worst point once had it in my ankle and was
using a stool as a walker until a friend brought me some crutches.   I
don't know if the beer is a valid treatment or not,  I'd say it's rather
obvious if you can get the old kidneys working and the pee stream
flowing the uric acid is bound to go down, and the uric acid crystals in
the joints will go back into the bloodstream and out the exhaust.   And
I'm not talking about drinking a case of beer a day after the gout goes
away,  I'm saying drinking a lot of low point beer with water has
cleared up my gout in less then a day.   I'm not using this as an excuse
to drink,  I'm just stating what has worked for me and wondering if it
might work for others.

Just to tag on to Harv here.  A challenge Moe.  Go online and look at some
pictures of the damage gout causes.  Think about the pain you have had and
consider it not going away.

I have gout.  Not severe, but damn it hurts when it gets a joint going.  I
haven't had a problem in any new joints in eighteen months since I started
on the medicine the doctor prescribed.  And the already bad joints only hurt
if I do something stupid like eat a nice big serving of roast beef with
maybe a glass of red wine.  So I skip the wine,  have a few bites of the
roast beef, and take the rest home to a very happy Border Collie.

I've been online and looked at the pictures and read all I could,  and
I ate cherries and cut out all the bad things, went to the Doc and still
suffered bouts of gout.   When it got in my ankle I decided to try
something different, you haven't had gout until it hits your ankle!
Like I said,  yesterday at this time I couldn't walk because of the gout
without using the side of my foot or crutches.  I couldn't put my shoe
on, no way!  But.....    Today after the markets close I'm going to mow
the yard.   I don't know why people can't think outside the box,  this
just might have merit, I don't really know and I wouldn't be bothering
with all this if I didn't think it just might work.  All I'm asking is
for some others to try it.  If I'm wrong I have no problem admitting it.
If I'm right the satisfaction will be only in knowing others don't
have to needlessly suffer.   Someone please try it and let us know if it
works or not,  I know it works in my case and one other.

Ok, here's where you will get some agreement. The Natural Light cure. But
not for gout, for kidney stones. The beer speeds up the decalcification and
it also moves them lil' dogies along to get them to get OUT. The medicine
works for kidney stones but the beer is a quicker getter outer.

The meds. for gout and pseudogout don't work quickly but they do work. Going
more with the whiter meats and fish and avoiding the richer foods are even
better for curing gout. Thru prevention.

Moe's miracle cure is not gaining wide acceptance,  or any acceptance.

Nope.  He knew what he was talking about.

Aside from you treatment being "all wet"  you are pretty lame in your
understanding of what a cure is.

Instant temporary relief it isn't.
