No slam on those of you who say your social life consists of doctor visits,
but I really didn't want to join your ranks!
I saw the pulmonologist and and gastroenterologist on Thursday. Pulm. guy
agrees with our belief that the lung nodules are nothing to worry about -
could do a follow up CT, but in the absence of any lung symptoms, probably
not even that. The nodules may be "just me" or a residue of breathing in
some spores during all the camping, hiking and such we do. He asked, in an
amused, "your RD is being an alarmist" sort of voice, just how low my albumin
is. Got quite a double-take when I told him and I was told, yet again, that
I look too healthy to have numbers like that. I'm getting tired of that
line!
Luckily the GI guy didn't say that, but then my RD had discussed me with him
earlier in the week and he already knew. I remain the confounding GI
patient. Monday we drive basck across state again for me to have a small
bowel follow-through. He wants it done there so he can see the actual films
rather than copies. It'll be rough, as I'm not allowed to take any of my
meds that morning along with no food or drink! Mike will drive me though and
hopefully he'll still be able to make it down to his previously planned
evening activity. We agreed I really wouldn't feel like driving without my
morning voltaren, tylenol and tramadol!
Then we're doing an endoscopy and small bowel biopsy on the 30th. Oh, and
between appts. they drew blood to test for one of the suspected intestinal
infections. Hopefully, all this testing will tell them what they need to
know. If it doesn't, he's talking surgery to remove one of the glands for a
biopsy and I *really* don't want to do that. I just want the answers to show
up in this round of testing. Answers, please!
Heh, GI guy said he'd be more worried if I were losing weight and I told him
I *still* don't like my recent weight gains from the fatigue!
It's finally safe to plant the vegetable gardens up here and I just really
don't have time for all of this when the outdoors are calling me.

it, getting the bod diagnosed. i hope you get the answers you need in

Amen! I haven't even told MIke about the talk of surgery if they find no
answers with these tests. He doesn't need to know that yet. If we reach
that point, there WILL be a discussion about how much we need to nail this
down right now. I've been living like this for 2 years already. I have too
much coming up to take for surgery and I was planning on the next op being
bunion repairs!
If they'd build a straighter road with more passing lanes for east-west
traffic, it'd help. Getting caught behind student drivers or double, lumber
trucks doesn't help the drive to the docs any!

here's hoping for some definitive answers

Nann,
I don't blame you sweetie. I hated it when I was doing all that testing and
such. It is so wearing and painful too. It might be a pain free test for
most, but for me no way. Just laying on the table causes me pain, they don't
have to do anything else.
I feel for you with all this testing and such but I sure do hope they find
out what is causing it and can fix it right up for you.
You are still in my prayers and thoughts.
