Surprising Benefits From Walking:

1.  Fewer colds - women who walk have 1/2 the colds as sedentary,
overweight, postmenopausal women.

2.  Generate Gray Matter - Walking can actually make your brain bigger.

3.  Lift your mood, immediately - a single 30-minute walk can help
boost your mood if you're depressed.

4.  Have better sex - No kidding.  Both men and women may improve their
sex lives by walking.  A 5-year study of postmenopausal women not on
hormone theapy revealed that sexual satisfaction increased with the
frequency of exercise.

... Every absurdity has a champion to defend it.

I've found a way to get motivated to walk.  And I'm pretty much stuck with
it, like it or not.

Kayla has way more energy than is reasonable in man or beast.  She can and
will find outlets for that energy.  One way to wear her down is to run her
at the park.  It isn't even a lot of work.  She is constantly drafting other
people into throwing her ball for her.  Often I walk less that a quarter of
a mile.

But it gets me out of the house and gets my blood circulating a little bit.
Even makes me soak up enough sun to keep up with the vitamin D.

And I know what happens if she doesn't get her run.  About the time I'm
ready to call it a day, she wants to play.  And I don't mean a little game
of fetch or a few Frisbee throws.  No she wants to wrestle.  Trust me its
easier to just take her to the park.
