May 12th is Stamp Out Hunger Day.

You can leave canned goods and non-perishables at your mailbox and your
mail carrier will collect the food. For those in apartment complexes,
there should be bins set up near your mailboxes, so look for them. If we
all contribute, others will be able to eat. The food bank in Seattle
just said that they really need baby foods.

I'm heading to the store now as I remember well a time when I had to go
to the food bank when I first moved out here and couldn't find a job. I
was so appreciative that they were there and that they treated me with
caring and respect.

Yep - I thought it was just here, but it's all over the USA. I had already
put several cans in our mailbox and put the flag up.
