My BIL Harold has his surgery tomorrow for his ectopic goiter. For
about three months he was under the impression that this was cancer-
then was told it was not. It has been a roller-coaster. Of course they
are relieved, but each surgery has its own worry.

Iris is doing well. She is having some carpal tunnel issues, but
otherwise is now doing great. her surgeon told her that most people
would have given in and gone for the amputation. Fortunately she did
not need to make that decision.

I am doing relatively well. I just completed another course and this
is my week off. I have had a mini version of the evil foot thing, with
both feet affected, but not to the degree I have had in the past. I
put myself on a pred burst, and it is helping.

I have made a decision to sell my house. I have only been here since
2005 (July) and love the house, but I have a neighbour fom not a kind
and friendly place. He is mean and I do not trust him. He has threated
my cat (who has not been out of the house since Sept) and suggested
several things he would do should Quigley happen to put a paw in his
yard. Both he and his wife are verbally abusive to me. I simply can no
longer tolerate the stress. I thought about getting a restraining
order, but really, I can't see that that is the longterm solution. A
realtor is coming Friday after school.

The interesting thing is I did not call him, but he approached me
because he heard I was having problems. I was planning to call but
kept putting it off. The market is not terrific right now and houses
are quite overpriced not to mention that there is not a nice one-level
rancher that i can see.

But, since he approached me, I am taking that as a sign that I do need
to move. (LOL).

so pray for me too, that this is a good decision, I get a good price,
and can move quickly. I know that is very selfish. I am not homeless
and when so many are truly needy, I feel quilty for asking for such
things for me. (But it would make life easier). I do have one house in
mind, but need to get a good price on mine before I can even consider
it.

Rose,

Of course, will keep them in my thoughts.

Forgive me being a paranoid attorney, but how did this realtor hear you were
having trouble? If from a friend, he's an opportunist, but probably OK. But
if he called out of the blue, I would suspect collusion between this person
and the nasty neighbor. In that case, I'd still consider moving, but use a
different realtor.

Hi Adelle,
Thanks for your concern. This is a small town, so gossip spreads
easily. His wife is my friend and former colleague. She retired in
June, so I have not spoken to her too much except for the odd email.
He was my realtor when I sold my last house and purchased this one.

Rose,
I will pray for your BIL and also for Iris to continue to do well.
I remember when you bought your home and that you were so very happy to
move in.  It's terrible to have to put up with bad neighbors and this
guy seems over the top if he is threatening your cat.  I wouldn't trust
him either and wouldn't feel comfortable living next to him.  Lots of
good wishes for you to sell quickly and find a new home where you will
be safe.

Hhhm, why did that make me laugh,,, I do not know but it did.  When another
home is bought,,, would a person back out of the neighborhood keeping a good
eye on the neighbor?   LOLOL  Good luck with it all.

Thank-you, Diane and Ann. I feel that this fellow is a loose cannon,
and because I am alone, do not trust him. I am hopeful that things
will work out for the best.

Oh, I see,,,, where I am from,,, he would soon find out that he is not the
only person to have a cannon.   Sorry that to move away from where you live
is the answer but good luck with it and may you find a wonderful place to
live with where people live that know how important it is to be a good
neighbor.

Rose,

You are on my thoughts and prayers, as for moving if you can,
do it, some people are mean, and you have enough on your mind then thinking
about a lunatic.

Take care, hugs and well wishes from a friend.

Rose, so glad that the goiter is not malignant.  That has to be a great
relief.  Am thankful that Iris did not go for the amputation and finally got
everything going well.  Wow, you're going to be the most educated peerson
around.  Glad you have a week off, but so sorry the evil foot thing is back.

I don't blame you for selling your house.  Having stress over a neighbor is
a bad thing, and it will be much better for you all around.  I'll be praying
you get a good price for your house so you can get the house you need at a
good price for you.

Rose, my Mom always said that everything happens for a reason. I'm sorry
you have to move, it's awful when you buy a house and then find out the
neighbors are not the kind of people you want to be living next door to.
I will keep you in my prayers for a quick and good sale, and for finding
a lovely house in a place with nice people. Come down to Bellingham,
we're very nice here :))

BIG HUGS,
Carole

See, this group is so nice.
You always make me feel so good.

Group hug everyone!!

Harold had his surg at 7 am, and seems to be recovering well. All went
smoothly. They expect two days in ICU, and then step-down (If I
understand correctly).
