Squirrely - 22 Apr 2007 23:04 GMT We are going downhill fast. Don't even have money at this point to pay Mays rent unless his dad sends us some.
So I am going to try to get Mays bday cards out but then I think I am going to have to quit doing it. I am sorry I wanted to keep doing it but I just don't have the money any more.
Just know that I will continue to send you thoughts even though I can't send cards.
Also I will post if I remember the bday list for online posting that I started making up. So if anyone wants added on it that isn't already on there, I will be glad to put their names up. I will start that in another thread again when I post the May bdays.

Donna G. - 22 Apr 2007 23:47 GMT SJ,
That is just fine. You can still wish everyone a happy birthday or anniversary online and it will still be just as much appreciated. Just knowing that you are thinking of everyone and acknowledging them is pretty darn special and a very compassionate thing to do in my book!
No one wants to see you struggle so!!!!
You are always so supportive and we all know you think of us and love us!!!
Hugs dear one!!!

Squirrely - 23 Apr 2007 17:16 GMT Thank you Donna, Also Nanny I saw your post on by the way thread and thank you also.
I am giving the rest of the posts some thought. I will try to get back to you today with an answer. I am really torn about it.

They've been a blessing for a long time. If it is money, let's see if we can problem solve that. Those cards are an essential and important part of this newsgroup. What if we all send you cards (I have tons) and keep an eye out for cards at garage sales and on ebay, etc. If we can send you cards and stamps, would you want to keep doing the cards?
No pressure here kid, but if there is any way to work out you doing cards, it would be nice to say the least.
So, I'll send a package of cards when I send your bracelet and some stamps unless you tell me not to
m
rk - 23 Apr 2007 02:48 GMT I'd be willing to toss in a few sheets of stamps if needed just let me know where they need to go. I agree, even though I've not given my info out.. The cards are a VERY important part of a support community and some of these folks really look forward to getting them I'm sure.. Just let me know what needs to be done.

And if you need help with other stuff, it's OK to let us know. Lord knows I never would have made it without the help I got from people here.

Squirrely - 24 Apr 2007 04:45 GMT OK, I will keep doing it but I do need stamps and cards. I send out birthday, anniversary, get well and thinking of you and sympathy cards.
I will sign the cards from ASA since it will be a group effort.
I hate to accept this because I was so used to doing it for myself before the group got together a year or so ago and send me cards and stamps. But I don't see any other way for me to keep doing it except to accept your wonderful offer.
I am answering Melinda, Reisa, and Carole.
Kelly did send me $20 for stamps so I just had Jim go get them and then he did inform me that they were going up to 41 cents next month. I said great then you should have brought 41 cent stamps. So now I have 49 stamps that are 39 cent stamps. Dah.
I will make him go back out and pay for the 2 cent stamps himself. I can't believe he did that.
I used a couple of Kelly's stamps today to help me get out May' s cards.
I am going to make another post later or tomorrow asking for suggestions.
But yeah Melinda, it is a money thing. I feel like a fool too for offering to help you with the mail out of the bracelets and then I can't.
We are going to be late for rent in May because the money we were expecting is going to come in late. He did get his dad to ok it for now, but it will be late getting to us.
I should have said something sooner about not being able to do this. But I was stubborn and didn't want to have people sending money, cards or stamps. But as you said Melinda, it should keep going. So I will humble myself and say yes I will do it, but I do need help.
It was not an energy thing. It does bother me at times to write in the cards but I figure it is just the thought that someone is thinking of you and not how long the card is. So I am printing out stuff for the cards that were just note cards and tapeing that inside and signing it and addressing it and that is ok. So as long as I don't have to write alot I would love to keep doing it.
I feel honored that you would want me to do this for the group.
Also Melinda, could you call me. I am thinking after looking at most of the names they had listed for the supposed free and low income clinics that I will stay with this place. So I would still like to hear how you think I could get the money to pay the annual fee so I can get in there cheaper.

I have put out feelers for some bucks from the women's center descretionary fund that i may be able to tap into. I got a call back today adn didn't have time to follow up. I'll call you probably on wednesday-tomorrow I am traveling to sebastopol
Also Jo, don't ever again feel hesitant to just put out that you need some help with the cards. Not having money is not something to be embarrassed about. Not having compassion or empathy or even good manners would be something to be embarassed about, but for sure lack of money isn't. I think we were all so blessed when you found this group. your generosity of spirit is often one of the glues that binds us as a group. In this world, girl, I owe you.

Kelly - 24 Apr 2007 17:24 GMT I agree m. So long as you don't want to quit those cards mean so much to so many. Also they hopefully give you something back too. I know I am bad at cards, bdays etc but I admire what you do so much.
I intend to continue sending you stamp money in memory of Diane. Her husband wrote to say how much the messages we sent made to her. He also said a goofy card I sent for her birthday that "played" (a loose word because it was pretty tune deaf) Shake your booties out had her dancing in her bed and showing all the nurses and they shared some laughs. So maybe if I help you out those laughs and joys of opening up mail from someone will help someone else.
So if you don't mind continuing until you get sick of it; it causes problems for you or until our stamp money runs out - can I send stamp money (can't send you stamps unless I am in the states.)

Thank you so much. I appreciate what you said about me. I do take compliments having a hard time dealing with them, but am starting to work on that. ;-) I always got upset when people said Thank you to me when really it is not me, I am being directed what to do, but now I am getting better at handling compliments.
I started crying when I was reading these posts. Then read yours and boy that did it. ;-)
I would be honored to keep the card ministry going for the group. I would also like to do it in the name and memory of Diane and others that have passed on. I know Donna H also told me how much my cards meant to her. So I really do want to do this as long as I can.
Yes you can send stamp money, I understand why you do.
I just didn't want people thinking that is why I had posted this was to get money or cards or stamps from them. I really don't like asking for things for myself. I don't mind asking for things for others though. ;-)
Just jot a note to me to remind me it is for stamps though. My brain is on vacation for a long time and I need to be reminded of everything these days.

Since we have been getting cards from you Jo, we have gotten better at sending cards to family on time. We'd become pretty negligent. And in turn we have been getting cards back from them.
Jo (the other one, but slightly squirrelly myself since a fuzzy tailed rat seems to be checking out the trees in out back yard. )

that is good then that it prompts you to send out cards to your family. ;-)
I finally saw a squirrel about a month ago but not since then. I thought I might be getting some of my squirrels back but I guess not. ;-(

Squirrely - 26 Apr 2007 08:08 GMT thanks Melinda.
I am sorry if you tried calling today. Jim was on puter for quite a while before he had to go to work at the temp agency. Then later on tonight I started having stuff happening that was scaring me to death so I ended up being on the phone with Denise for about 2 hours till my heart beat started settling back down and the other stuff almost completely stopped. I think it is a dehdyration issue or adrenal issue.
I won't hesitate again Melinda. I promise.
I just hope I can keep doing it now that I said I would. Because in the next couple of months it could get hairy. His parents aren't going to be able to help us with rent and bills so I am not sure at this moment what the heck we are going to do.
Just found out that one today after my heart beat started acting up and I am sure that didn't help it any.
You don't owe me sweetie, I love doing this kind of thing. So no owing, no thanks needed. It helps me greatly too, just to feel that I am useful for something. ;-)

Also increase in cost of international mail, including letters to Canada.
Interesting issue I haven't seen addressed with the new "forever" stamps. International treaties require a value of a stamp to be printed on it. Thus the "A," "B," "C,".... "H" stamps could not be used to Canada and other countries. Will we have to purchase separtae stamps with x# of cents printed on them?
... Just cover me with chocolate and throw me to the wild women.

Nann Bell - 24 Apr 2007 15:20 GMT Did he buy specific 39 cent stamps? I'm asking because the post office now has the "forever" stamp that just says first class on it. When you buy it, you pay whattever the current first class rate is, then the stamp is good for first class mailing even if the rates change.
My husband must be one of the (very?) few who will miss putting many stamps on an envelope to add up to current postage. sigh......... he IS unique! LOL

I am falling behind again. Something is playing games with me again and it is hard to type alot at one time and for some reason I am really feeling overwhelmed over the smallest things.
But I do appreciate all everyone is doing to help and the support.
Hopefully tomorrow I can type more.
