I've been coming and going in this group for many years now, and it usually
boils down to just plain not being able to follow due to my hands and neck.
The volume of posts, and trying to type responses, even to selective ones,
is so difficult that it's maddening and frustrating.

This latest nasty severe flare (I'm always flaring, but there are degrees,
and this last bad one was the worst yet) had several finger joints
partially dislocating, with one full dislocation.  Wrists mushy and tissue
tears, ankles the same, and knee tissue tears.  I've got more braces and
splints than you can shake the proverbial stick at, and they do a good job
of stabilizing things.  But there's nothing to be done for my neck:  it's
in the spine at the base of my skull, and my spine itself is collapsing.
I've lost two inches in height, and the pressure on nerves is increasing.

It's partly because of all of this that I no longer am involved in
storytelling like I used to be online.  And being active in any newsgroup
is darn near impossible.

So I'm going back into occasional lurk mode.  Just please know that you're
all in my heart, and my thoughts, and my prayers go out to all who need
them.

Take care and keep fighting and smiling!

Love and hugs,
Kitt

Lady Kitt, be sure you're in our hearts and prayers also.
Pray that this severe flair won't stay around long at all.  I've lost height
also; used tobe 5' 2 1/2".  Now I'm 5 feet.

I was 5'9" when I went on the PD.

One doctor these days says I'm now 5'1".

Another says I'm 5'.

I've lost either 8' or 9" (not that the 1" difference really matters) since
dx in 1979.

... Progress is made on alternate Fridays.

While you are in lurk mode know that we are thinking of you and hoping this
flare from **** goes away quickly and you get even a little relief.  I know
even that makes a small difference.

Don't disappear forever though Kitt - keep sending in small messages
occasionally letting us know how you are doing.  We will be thinking of you
and giving silent support but sometimes you might need that verbal gentle
hand holding and we will be there.

No need to reply to any of these - we understand.

Kelly who is going to run out of candles pretty soon - good thing I hit a
good sale on them awhile ago.

Soft gentle hugs....You take care of you and know that while you are lurking
we will be thinking of you...
Praying that the worst of this flare is over for you....And you have some
pain free days...
Hugs Cindy

Kitt,

Sorry to hear this. But if you could pop in from time to time to let us know
how you are going we would appreciate it.

You take care and I will be praying for you to get better. You will be in my
thoughts even if you are not posting.

((((((((((((((((Ladykitt))))))))))))))))))  that neck situation must really
cause havoc with all of your body - just what you don't need with all you
have going on.  Please, take care of yourself first, but if you can update us
occasionaly, that would be lovely.

Kitt,
You have my sympathy for sure.  For many reasons, the old AOL format
worked so well for me as a newsgroup structure. I find this reading
through google to be much more of an issue and when my hands are bad,
I just stay away.  It's not even that i can't type; it's that the
reading process and sorting process are laborious.  The neck thing is
even stranger.  I don't have arthritis in my neck but when I fell, I
got a whiplash.  I can't even think with my neck tweaked.  My knees
don't effect my ability to concentrate but the neck thing is just
always so there.

Someday soon, there will be good voice recognition software that
actually works and includes commands for computer function.

So check in occasionally or have someone do it for you.  I wonder how
your doing at times throughout the years, wondering how the michigan
thing is working-missing your sharp intellect-

Melinda, Have you tried Forte's Agent program? You can get a Free
version or upgrade. I find it quite easy to navigate through. The
website is www.forteinc.com
I have used Free Agent for many years.
