Well I went back to the doctor's yesterday. Definitely an infection and he
now thinks that is where the shingles pain that I thought was mostly post
shingles is coming from. On cipro for 7 days and already the pain is down
considerably. The bleeding urine has stopped (at least gross - could still
be microscopic) and the cramping has stopped - thank goodness. Lab tests
showed 21 - 30 urine wbc (range is <6) 4 - 10 RBC (range is <4). Of course
the labs were taken 3 days ago too. So definitely an infection. Glad to
hear it.
Busy day yesterday afternoon too. Went to see the builders of our new house
and the plan is all approved. We went through everything from door handles,
door widths, mouldings, colour of paint, flooring, to where the hot water
and crawl space door would be. Shut off valves for water where I can get at
them, which patio door would be dominant, which taps I could handle. Final
quote will be here in the next two weeks and he could be starting at the end
of May instead of the end of August. That means we will only need a rental
for 5 months - hurrah! So things are finally looking up.
Now to get some RA treatment when I am better. I have been so down that
little things like yesterday make a difference.
Thanks everyone - boy I am so up and down lately a person would almost think
it was manic. Really it isn't just an up and down health year.

Kelly,
This is just getting to be too weird. well as always, prayers for
healing and wellness.Don't you find it ironic that a urinary tract
infection is good news <g>? The house news is majorly exciting
though. When you move in, can we have a gimp fest there?

You bet Melinda. Would be a great area for a gimpfest - just above Cowichan
Bay where the best bread is - they grind their own grain from wheat they
bring in and it is just the best. A local cheesemaker next door to there,
the best homemade icecream on the island right next door to that. The only
glitch is the other bedrooms are upstairs - I won't have to go there so the
main floor is the area for me. Housekeepers and Pat can deal with upstairs.
I do find that it is weird when things that would be major for others are
great for us. As mom said too, how was a doctor to know. There are so many
problems lately and they all overlap with the pain that it is hard to tell
what is what. I am still getting the stitch in the side intermittently so
will go back in a week if it isn't gone with the antibiotic to make sure it
is the shingle nerve pain and not something else. What a pain!
Will answer your email about Megan later. Off for a nap now. Still
fighting major fatique and not doing too much but eating well, taking
vitamins and trying to keep up with my exercise and relaxation sessions.
Sleeping only 1 - 2 hours in a row for 5 weeks does nothing for the body! I
need 8 hours of solid sleep to rebuild my energy and rest my joints.!
Take care,
Kelly

Oh Kelly,
I am sorry to hear this. I hope the antib clears it all for you and that you
can get back to before the shingles and the infection. I wish there was
something I could do for you. I feel for you.
Oh by the way, get off that yoyo that you and I are stuck on ok. I am trying
to get off mine. ;-) or is yours a roller coaster. LOL
I hope the house turns out just the way you want it. It is good you will be
getting in it earlier. I am happy for you.
I hope you can get an RA treatment that works for you sweetie, you deserve
it.
