Sending lots of prayers and well wishes to you all in hopes that the
storms headed that way turn out not to be as bad as they are
forecasting.
Please, as you are able, check in with us over the next few days to let
us know how you are doing and that you are safe!!!
Stay warm and stay safe and know that you are being thought of and
prayed for!

I haven't been on WebTV last night and today because of the Nor'easter and
had the computer turned off until just a while ago.
It was snowing this morning! We're under a coastal floodwatch until 1 a.m. A
man has already been killed here in New Jersey because of flooding. The
winds are still high with gusts around 40-50 mph. I'm planning to stay
inside.
I'm going to go on WebTV shortly and post in the lung ng.

We lost power for about 10 hours. Sump pump didn't pump because there was no
electricity. Of course that meant 1 inch puddles in 4 different parts of the
basement (opposite ends, wouldn't you know). Doug stayed home and tried to
keep up with it w/towels. Power has been on since 4 and the dehumidifier has
been running nonstop. Oh, and neighbor's birch tree came down taking out a
rail of the fence. Nothing major.
My mom is visiting from Denver and was having a bad day painwise (it was
even too much to change clothes to go in the hot tub when we finally got
there. She had to nap after showering and dressing.). I took Ian over to
visit and play in the hotel pool and be somewhere where there was light (my
daughter went to her best friend's - didn't want to swim). Then we went out
to the mall just to get my mom walking, because some of the pain has been
from sitting too much. Mom is with my sister this evening.
Getting more of the storm tomorrow though and not looking forward to it.
Doug has to go back to work and I wanted to get my Mom out of the hotel (and
out house) and doing something (!!!!!) because the sitting around isn't good
for her at all. But if we are flooding again....
For future reference for gimps - the Marriott in Burlington, MA has roll out
handicapped showers in the handicapped rooms and a rolling, 'seat lift' to
get in and out of the pool and whirlpool (a mechanized thing that has a seat
that goes up and down to get in and out of the pools). Mom has been using
wheelchair and walker to get around and has no issues at the hotel. Maybe
tomorrow we can test how well it works.

It's much better here tonight. We lost power off and on but the sump
pump is back working again. I refuse to go downstairs to check out the
flooding situation because there is nothing I can do about it anyway. I
don't hear lapping of waves so it can't be too bad. Neighbor's tree
came down on his side lawn but missed my car in the driveway (good
thing). Couldn't sleep in upstairs bedroom last night cause the outside
roll up awnings were banging against the house. Tried sleeping in
downstairs bedroom but noise of the wind whooshing down the fireplace
chimney kept me awake. Finally dozed off on the couch with the tv
going. The bay came up at the bottom of the street but didn't reach the
two homes down there below me. The creek in the lower back yard is like
a raging river but can't hurt anything down there.
All in all, not as bad as it could have been although lots of folks have
flooded out homes and basements and there is a lot of beach erosion
south of here.

Glad to hear Adelle, Anne, and Nell you came thru it kind of ok. I hope
there is not really alot of damage for anyone. It is just getting to be too
much with all this weather stuff destroying so much.
