I Did It Again!

I almost can't believe it but am not really surprised. I dislocated my right
replaced hip again last night--for the 4th time!  My right leg was already
in a boot up to my knee and covering my toes.  My next Dr. appt is in three
weeks when I will get a walking boot.  I was ready for bed last night; had
taken a shower and washed that leg to get all the dead skin off.  I leaned
over to pull one of the straps on the boot tighter and heard and felt the
hip dislocate.  Must have been about 10 PM.  Billy and Jayne had been here
earlier, and it only took them a few minutes to get back when I called them.
Billy called 911 for an ambulance and they didn't take too long getting
here.
Just as previously, I didn't have my cell phone on my body.  It was on my
night stand to be recharged.  When the ambulance (with 4 people) got here,
the gurnedy would not go down the hall so they moved me in my rolling,
computer chairto the great room where the "bed" was.  The moving from one
thing to another wasn't very comfortable, but I made it without screaming!
So back to Jackson Hospital again where the replacement was done and where I
had already been for 3 dislocations.  My doctor has not been on call for
either of the dislocations.

They checked my vitals and put in an IV to be used for pain meds and getting
the hip back in place--after an xray.  I never did get the pain medication,
but thankfully this time it evidently didn't dislocate as much as previously
and didn't hurt quite as bad.  Must have been about 12:30 AM when they
knocked me out and fixed me up.  Made me stay for a while to wake up and get
ready to come home.
Was about 1:30 AM when we got back to my house.  Jayne put away my clothes I
had laid out for church this morning and she and I went to bed.  When she
got up to go home and dress for church I was waked up for a few minutes.
Went right back to sleep and slept until 10:30.  My hip is sore but isn't
hurting unless I move it.  I think I'm ready to go back to bed now for a
nice, long nap.

Oh, Gwen, this is just getting to be too much!  You need several calm and
quiet weeks with nothing happening to let your body catch up!  Thank goodness
this time hasn't been as painful as before AND that you have such good and
helpful family members around.  I hope you had a nice nap and you don't
suffer too many after-effects of this dislocation.

Lots of rest!  Sounds like your body needs lots of rest to heal properly.
Glad you're okay and that they were able to reset things well.

Gwen,

I'm so sorry to hear about your hip.  If it's not one thing its
another.  Hope you get to feeling better soon.  Take care of yourself.
