Well I went back to the surgeon today and he cleaned out the incision which
BTW is still draining. The healing is slow because of diabetes, but I cant
figure why the drainage. It has been 8 weeks now. He doesn't seem to have
an answer. he put me back on that awful levaquin. Has anyone else ever
taken it and had so many side affects?. It makes me feel so bad. No energy,
nausea, and just a bad feeling all over. he wants me to take for 7 more days
and return. no infection or anything showing up in culture. It just wont
heal. Just wonder if anyone has had a problem with or taken this
antibiotic.

When I had my fusion back in July, it only took 9 days for the incision to
heal
and I stopped draining after 3 days. I'm a Type 1 diabetic and had piss
poor
control prior to my surgery with a 7.8 A1C taken a week prior to surgery.
I'd
suggest that you do whatever you need to, to make sure your glucose is in
"good" control, this will probably help the very most. I'd also asked to
get
checked to make sure there isn't any infection brewing. I know my doctor
gave me 2 IV bags of antibotics in the hospital prior to my surgery and
another
4 IV bags after just to "prevention"
best of luck and hope you heal a bit faster.
