SignatureNann remove the Gator cheer to email me Simply the thing I am shall make me live --- William Shakespeare thank you, everybody. it was sooooooo heart-warming and heart-lifting to see and read this thread from all of you. you guys are the best!!!! i'm sure you have no idea how precious and wonderful each and every one of you are to me. it's been a bit of a challenging week and a half. i'm ok. but we had a death in the family. my wonderful and very special aunt toni passed away--we kids always called her, our aunt "toni terrific", to give you an idea of what she was like. her funeral was tuesday. loving, brilliant and formidable woman who began going to college at age 36 or 37 and got her masters in social work before her first son started college. she raised all eleven of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren (her two daughters' children; both daughters died.), though one great-grandson is still in high school. my godson/nephew ed, who has been dealing with non-hodgekins lymphoma, has something suspicious going on with his thyroid. it turned up in his cat scan and and bloodwork. he has to undergo more tests, though surgery sounds like it is impending. i've been trying to keep his spirit up, cuz he's feeling a bit depressed and overwhelmed. my 83 year-old father's vascular test indicated he needs bypass surgery on his legs. he's feeling a bit overwhelmed, what with my mom's alzheimer's and all. butch's sister joanie had six needle biopsies done on her throat/thyroid and got the results on friday. not good. she will be having surgery to remove the cancerous tumors, right after she returns from her cruise to mexico in march. her spirit is just as strong and dynamic as ever, thank goodness. i think they could use a bit of the prayer machine magic, if you would please be kind enough to include them to your list. thanks again, you guys. i love all of you! kate This greeting is for our lovely Kate (d'huit) whose birthday it is today! There is just too much going on out there and bad stuff at that. I guess it's hard to feel happy about your birthday with so much else around you. (((((((((Kate and family)))))))))))) I don't know what it is about the past 3 months or so, but it seems that all kinds of folks are having major negative stuff going on. In just one of our small churches here we lost a 52 year young man, whose mom is also in the church and had major surgery a week before Xmas, someone else is undergoing radiation and chemo for recently discovered cancer, a lady had major surgery to repair the circulation in one leg yesterday and foces the same treatment on the other leg and another family lost the house to a fire yesterday. And that's just the local folks I know - many other similar stories around here of late. And we all know of the stories going on in this group. I think I'll light candles for the world tonight......
