I am having an ulnar nerve transposition tomorrow afternoon.  I know
I'll be fine and that this is just another "bump in the road".  BUT
being put to sleep is really scary for me.  I've had three surgeries
in the past 7 years but this is still difficult for me.  Please
remember me in your prayers and I will check in as soon as I am able.

Thank you
Angela

Good luck, and best wishes for a speedy recovery. I had this surgery
explained to me many years ago, so  have an idea of what you will be
going through.

Do you have someone that can post an update?
I don't imagine you will be able to post yourself, at least not using
that arm.

I will be thinking about you.

Angela,

Kind of new in the group, I know what you mean about surgery and the anxiety
of being put to sleep, I had surgery on Friday also, and my heart was coming
out of my chest.
I hope yours came out find, and you are feeling ok.

Hi Donna G!

My surgery went well although there was more inflammation and nerve
impingement than the surgeon expected.  I've been trying to rest but
comfortable has not arrived yet.  I know that anything involving a
nerve is painful and slow to heal (even without prednisone and RA) but
had hoped for it to have settled down at least a little by now.
Tomorrow I get "unstitched" and will hopefully get some insight into
the recovery process.

Thanks to all for your thoughts and prayers

It will take a bit probably to get back to "unnormal" if there was quite a
bit of inflammation.  Rest and keep the range of motion exercises up as they
have instructed.  If it is not comfortable keep the meds up and do the
exercises when the meds are at their maximum.  Ask about massage where the
unstitched area is and if it is okay try some good vitamin e cream or better
yet the cream Melinda has told several people about "mothers belly jelly?  I
recommended it to my sister in law and her scar from her last operation
healed better than any ever had.  Her surgeon was amazed.

Take care Angela - glad to hear it went well.
