She often told them everything that had been sent to the fleet.

One of my "summer cruises" was at NavComSta and I had a chance
to visit both the transmitter and receiver sites.  Learned that
the original antenna towers were now supports for the longwire
antennas stretched between the towers.  A new paint job cost
more than the installation of the towers.

Also had 3 "summer cruises" at NavyMARS.  During the last one
in 1973, the Officer-in-Charge received a dozen or more pallets
stacked with ex-LAPD transceivers - 2400kc AM receivers and
73mc FM transmitters.  He was disappointed when I told him
that there was no way they could be used by amateurs.
