Hey everybody. Thought I should do an update on us.
Mostly, we're okay.:)
Rachel's implant continues to give better control of her seizures as time
goes by. She has been allowed to go back to PE class, and has had 2 seizures
since doing so. Both times she was hit in the head with a ball.:( It's a
big head, but sheesh! We have all agreed that if Rachel wants to stay in PE
she can't take part in any game that involves airborne balls. Plus, she's 12
now!:)
Arthur is still under control, most of the time. When he does act up now,
it's mainly in my neck, and causes major problems with my jaw, making my
bite go off. Very hard to eat, talk, or swallow when your jaw is out.:(
Hubby is going to dayshift next week. Hallelujah! That takes a lot of stress
off, and means we'll have more time together as a family. Very nice.
The not-so-good news is that Rachel came down with a nasty virus last week,
which brought along a fever. Thank goodness it wasn't bad enough to cause
seizures, and she was over it in a few days. Then I caught it, of course. I
spent all day Saturday on the sofa, alternately shivering, sweating, passed
out, or sipping tea. My temp went as high as 101.5, but I started feeling
some better yesterday afternoon.
Hubby came home this morning, saying he's sick now, too. I know not all men
are babies when they're sick, but mine is. Whatever he has is worse than
anyone in history has ever had.:/ So, I decided that we need food in the
house, so got him into bed, Rachel off to school, and went to the store. By
the time I got home, my head felt like it would explode, my ears are stuffed
and ringing, and everything seems to be taking place on a different plane of
existence. Not good signs.
Took my temp, and it was 99. Not bad, but I'm feeling like something bad is
going on, so called my doctor. I'll get in first thing tomorrow. Probably
it's a sinus infection, maybe the ears. In any case, I'll survive, but feel
really lousy, and am not looking forward to babying anybody right now.lol
I'm ready for the candle-lighting tonight, and hope you all escape the Virus
From Hell.

ANGELS EXIST, but some times, since they don't all have wings, we call
them FRIENDS......

Kelly,
glad you are mostly ok.
Glad to hear that the implant is helping out Rachel. Oh man they grow so
fast don't they. She is a young woman now.
I hurt hearing about your jaw though. I hope that stays hidden for quite
some time.
Glad to know hubby will be going back on days and it will be easier for you
all to have time together.
I hope you all get over that virus soon. I think Jim and I have it too.
Haven't been doing that great with it. Also have allergies on top of it and
flaring too. Always something. ;-(
You take care and get well quickly.
