That is sooo nice and there is only one,,, one Donna G...   After two rounds
of bronchitis that nearly put me in the hospital,  it is still coming back
but more slowly this time.   Ya know,,,, we should learn from what takes
place in our lives.   When I tested positive for TB(which proved out that I
was only exposed) I went through 7 months of a very strong anti-biotic.   7
months of nooooo RA.   I have been through 2 months of dealing with my
lungs,,,, nooo signs of RA after being on two different anti-biotics in that
time.  I have 6 months of Enbrel in my frig.
I am going to try to talk my RD, after he is fully informed about the
last 2 months,,, into letting me try the old anti-biotic treatment to
control my RA.
He and I have talked about it two other times and he has no faith in it
because of what has taken place with other people under his care that tried
to use it.
I keep telling myself that twice being in remission should be enough to
recognize that something is going on in my gut that regular dmards and
anti-tnfs are not controlling.    We shall see said the blind man.

I wonder Harv..Why sometimes The Doctors are afraid to listen to US...You
know...We are the ones that have been living with our Bodys for sometime
now...
Mine has been...shhhh(49) years...You would think that by now...I would know
Something..
Hoping that you have a better go of it soon...Hate to hear that the
Bronchitis is coming back...
Prayers..and hugs

Hi Cindy,,,,  Welllll, the RD has seen me more than once loose control of
my RA.   He knows how far I go down before starting to come back with
steroids and dmards.   I am going to have to tell him that this is my doing
and not his fault no matter what happens.

Ps 68 years and RA from 38... My goodness,,,, I have been dealing with this
for 30 years.

Harvey;

I was doing abx therapy for a couple of years cause we first thought all my
stuff was Lyme disease (and I still think that was a component as some neuro
symptoms never came back after I stopped the abx, though joint symptoms
did).

The abx are a great anti-inflammatory. That's why they prescribe it for acne
(which is an inflammatory condition, not bacterial). But my uncle the Pedi
RD says that so far, all of the studies seem to show that abx therapy
doesn't retard joint erosion; it just reduces inflammation. So you feel
good, but can't tell how the joints are eroding until its too late.

If it weren't for the extreme sun sensitivity and constant yeast issues, I'd
still be on the abx. But I might also consider adding in a DMARD for joint
protection.

Adelle
(whose current therapy of Plaquenil and Arthrotec are working pretty well
most of the time.)

Hmm what to do with 6 mos supply of enbrel....I bet that thought has crossed
your mind.. I am in the same boat with a 4 mos supply in the fridge..lol.
You know Harv the antibiotic thing seems like it would be something worth
the docs looking into further. I know that my RA seems better when I am on
antibiotics and I do not flare at all.
NIce to see you

Awwwww, Harv, I'm really sorry to hear that you are still having such a
rough time.   I know that the bronchitis can take a lot out of you and
can just leave you totally exhausted---especially with all of the
coughing and such.  Sure praying that things settle down for you SOON!!!
Please, please take it easy.   Rest and be extra kind to yourself.

Hope your doctor will at least listen and discuss with you your interest
in the antibiotic protocol  and that you both might come up with a plan
that you both can live with.

Blessings to you Harv!
