heehee, move here - you can have days like that more often! Winter is now
asserting itself here, finally. Went for a walk yesterday morning with it
17
degrees F outside, sunny, with only a light breeze. When I got home 45
minutes later, it was overcast, the wind was picking up and the snow showers
were starting. Maybe we'll get to snowshoe in the U.P. yet this winter.....

actually, butch (from mich.) and i moved up here from so. lake tahoe,
calif--where snow pack depths and snowdrift heights were measured by the
tens of feet and roadside snow markers are usually not seen again until
springtime, though sometimes they go unseen until summer (the drifts can be
that high and take that long to melt.). it's not uncommon there for it to
snow throughout springtime. in fact, it was snowing and 3ft was on the
ground, as we were packing up to move up here--the end of april. born in
new york, also lived in connecticut and denver, i still totally love
snow.<smile> i'm just weird, i guess. hope you have loads of fun
snowshoeing.

After Mary and I met Dan in Reno and spent the night there,
we were not sure we'd get to Sacramento for the California
Square Dance Convention -- in late April 2004. There was a
heavy snowfall overnight on both I-80 and U.S. 50.
