Last night I brought home a playmate for our 8 month old Lab. A little ankle
biter young puppy chow mix we named Spade. I have no clue why we chose that
name. Talk about a Mutt and Jeff  combination!! I'll give the little him
credit, he doesn't back off an inch from the lab and in fact gets very
aggressive with it. Funny to see this huge dog run and jump on the couch to
get away. Of course, if Chubbs had a mind to that little pup would be only
one bite away from our maker! I have no pictures yet as I could not find the
camera this morning (seeings how my son used it last.) No news there! lol
Will get pics posted asap.
Wish me luck, I'm gonna need it!

My first reaction was - Duh! What was the first clue? Living with a teen? Of
course you're nuts right now. (Ok - slapping myself for being naughty and
sarcastic).

Congrats on the puppy! Chows are very 'protective,' so Spade's behavior
isn't surprising, though Chubbs is being a little 'tolerant'. My lab mix
won't get into tussles with other dogs either; she has a very passive
personality. Must go with the breed.

Do you know what other breeds are in Spade's mix?

nuts, is right!  two high-octane dogs you have there.  things should be quite
interesting in your house now.  Do you have a fenced back yard for games?
