So I was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection back on December
19 (almost a week after my last Humira shot - although I got sick right
away). I had an appointment with the RD the next day - he told me no
Humira until I was well (lord love him, he gave me prednisone to get me
throught the holidays). Well, I finished my antibiotics on the 29th,
but I still have a little bit of chest congestion - not green or
yellowish, just thicker than normal (sorry if anyone is grossed out). I
have already missed one dose of Humira, and the next scheduled dose is
coming up on Wed. Do y'all think it would be ok to take it on Wed.?
The prednisone just doesn't work as well (read that as pain in the
hands w/out the Humira, which is a problem, since I type for a living),
and I think I am "well" from the infection.
Comments, ideas, experience with Humira & upper respiratory infections?
TIA

It's not uncommon for the body to produce thicker mucous secretions days
or weeks after an infection is well and truly gone. That said, you've
had this infection while under the influence of an
immunomodulatory/immunosuppressant drug. If it's still there and you
take another injection, you may end up risking a much worse relapse of
the infection and/or secondary infections. Or you may not. I'm afraid
the best person to advise you on this is your doctor. :(
