Awe Gee, don't eat them buckeyes that fall from the tree. They are poison
LOL.
Honestly they are but they do come from a tree and are a nut.
NOW to the Buckeyes that are candy made? You bet. My niece owns a
chocolate store here in Ohio and makes her own plus MOST Ohioans have a
reciepe they follow to make it. Main ingredients are the peanut butter for
the center and you dip them in chocolate JUST Enough to have one end look
open. Thus the picture of the nut that falls from the tree. hehe.
And NO Gary we are NOT NUTS in that Other respect LOL.
A little INFORMATION People LOL
Ohio Buckeye, the state tree of Ohio, is found primarily as an understory
tree in the western half of Ohio, where the soils are more alkaline in pH.
However, it is scattered throughout the eastern half of the state, except in
extreme northeastern and extreme southeastern Ohio. Its lightweight wood is
used in the production of artificial limbs, and the holding of a "buckeye
nut" in one's pocket is considered good luck. A native of the Midwestern and
Great Plains states, trees found in the open may reach 60 feet tall by 30
feet wide, but as a native understory it is often half that size. As a
member of the Horsechestnut Family, it is related to other Horsechestnuts
and Buckeyes, including man-made hybrids between the species.
So you see, besides the BEST Darn football team in the nation, we have a
tree....that helps people with artificial limbs too.
SEE we aren't all nutso

Truly - Gary, haven't you ever seen Bucky, the Buckeye on the sidelines? You
mean you couldn't TELL from looking at him that he was a nut from a
tree??!?!?!? LOL - he's cute, but if you don't know what he is, you do
wonder about that big brown head!

Did you see the news special they had on how "Brutus" was born? And
they had an interview with his parents even LOL... Was quite interesting!
I'm a native born and raised SoCal gal! GO TROJANS! is what I love to say
around here.. ticks off all my native Ohioian neighbors LOLOL.
But in all honesty... the Bucks have WELL deserved to be where they are
and I do wish them all the best in winning! So to that I say...
GO BUCKS!

heehee - that's what I get for listening to my native midwesterner husband!
But he's from Illnois and, briefly, Michigan, so there might be a bit of
prejudice involved LOL
hmm, a hug, now there's an idea - Albert the Alligator is married (Alberta,
of course) and I'm worried about losing an arm if I try to hug him!
