As some of you know, I am a very avid and loyal fan of the U of M
Wolverines  (that's University of Michigan) and am sooooo looking
forward to our BIG annual rivalry game between the U of M and Ohio State
which will be tomorrow.

Today, however, has been a very sad day, as Bo Schembechler (former U of
M coach and huge U of M Icon) passed away this morning of heart failure
at the age of 77.

So very sad and such a huge loss!!!!

them FRIENDS......

Sorry for your loss, Donna. Of course, the Wolverines will have another -
maybe less bitter - loss today when they are taken down by the Buckeyes.
Me - I'm a Maryland Terps fan, but I do have to live in Ohio for another few
years.

I heard about the news yesterday at lunch. Myheart just dropped being such a
big football family ourselves I am deeply saddened and He was a true great
in football and will be missed

Bo did an admirable job of fighting his health problems for so long.  It's a
shame he couldn't have made it a couple more days.

We've been watching the BC/Maryland game and the color guy said that after
growing up in Ohio, Bo had him *almost* convinced to go to Michigan - then
his dad told him  if he did, not to come home again!  Still, Bo remembered
him and his family and asked about them every time they were at Michigan for
a game.  Says a lot about what sort of man he was.
