California expected half or more absentee ballots.

Just like Oregon, you copycats. <g>
I've been wondering if Kelly C. or Mary Z. have heard any
complaints from the "poor" not being able to afford stamps
to return their ballots. (At least in California, the voter
must pay return postage.)
That's the bleeding hearts' gripe about photo ID to vote -
cost to the poor. Even when Georgia, I believe, had free
photo ID's, the bleeding hearts wouldn't shut up. I was
extremely thrilled when a Federal judge in Arizon OK'd
the photo ID requirement to vote in that state.

I have never heard about any complaints about needing to affix postage to
vote. We have lots and lots of places where the ballot can be dropped off.
Frankly, for most people, it costs less to affix a stamp than to drive to a
polling place. Plus, with the weather we've had this week, I think a lot of
votes would have been lost because people wouldn't want to, or couldn't, go
out.

We had a lot of places in Washington where people could not get to their
polling places because of the water. They had all kinds of options, even
ballots that they emailed to people. Or they could go to alternate sites
if they couldn't get to the one they were supposed to go to. In my
county, everyone does it by mail. I kind of missed going to vote though.
At my other apartment, we went to a little church about a block away and
they always had coffee and cake. You could sit and chat with members of
your community after you voted. I liked that :) And the cake was good
too!! :-)))
