I had 4 appointments Monday - the only weekday I have transportation.

#1 - RD - switched from Tylenol #3 to ULTRAM ER - return in 6 weeks.

#2 - Oncologist - PSA going down without treatment.  We're still in
the
"watchful waiting" mode.  Return in 4 months unless yesterday's
       lab results are bad.

     Lunch at Fuddruckers  <g>

#3 - ENT - pissed at his staff for mailing a letter suggesting a
follow-up
       appointment.  <g>

#4 - Podiatrist - trimmed nails, plantar warts, bunions, corns, etc.
Return in 8 weeks.  (I swear that some of those sores affect
my posture and stride, causing some of the pain in my RT leg
       and hip.)

Chief, I've been on Ultram ER for about two months, but he still kept me on
Ultram for break through pain, and I've used it quite often.

You are taking TWO forms of Ultram?

Chief, does he have you taking tylenol along with the ultram?  I've been
told/taught that they are more effective when used together than when used
solo and my experience with taking them has borne that out.  I take 50 of
ultram and 500 of tylenol together, though I guess that would be different
with Ultram ER.  (I started on ultracet, but that isn't generic yet and we
couldn't afford it at the time.)

So I guess you didn't really need the ENT appointment?  What a pain!

and I think you have a very good point about all the foot stuff playing games
with your stride.  Can he do any more to clear up some of that stuff?

I've been taking Tylenol 33 (with codine) for 12 or 13 years - my
former
RD started me on it in the mid-90's.  The current RD wanted me to stop
and begin the Ultram ER 100, once daily until I get a feel of it, then
if
necessary two a day.

It occupied our time between doc #2 and doc #4.  <g>

I've had the plantar warts since 1966.  One DPM wanted to go into the
foot and remove "bone spurs".  Another wanted to do surgery and
remove the "roots" of the warts.  Since I've been on Mediare, the docs
don't even call them "warts" anymore.  Hint:  Mediare doesn't cover
plantar warts - must be very common among seniors.  <g>  So they
call them something else.  ** IF ** I can get in every 8 weeks, I'm
fine.
But when they phone as I'm walking out the door enroute to the appt.
and reschedule 2 or 3 weeks later, I'm in poor shape.

Sometimes I think  since retirement, the doctor appointments are our
entertainment for the week.
Ours seems to come all at the same time also.
glad you got good reports so far

Zero co-pay for the doctors.

$3 co-pay for generic drugs at a pharmacy, zero at any
military installation.

$9 co-pay for brand name drugs, including Ultram and Embrel.

Total about $30 a month.

Mary's prescription costs are the same.

Oh, thank Heaven for Tricare-for-Life after 26 years in the
Naval Reserve.

DeeTee and Bob Taggart - 08 Nov 2006 21:45 GMT
Yes, same here after 20+ with the Army. I am former Army, he is retired
Army. If it weren't for that, we'd be up a creek without a paddle. Feel
better soon.
