People in that area please check in to say how you are doing. I know you are
being hit hard up that way.

Mary and I watched some of that flooding on the morning news.
Aim, Carole, Kate, and others in the area, please check in as
Squirrely requested.

I live right by the Skagit river, it is excepted to flood by 4 this
afternoon, there have been alot of volunteers doing sand bags here, the
other areas around me have the schools closed due to the flooding already,
the sun has just come out though so hopefully the worst is over

i'm here and safe, sj!<waving at you>
my lowlands (and most of my neighbor's lowlands) are flooded, but my house
is on high ground, as are the homes of most of my neighbors. about 3 of my
neighbors's homes, on the west side of i-5, have been flooded badly. 2 of
the 3 roads leading to my house are at least partially under water. one of
those two roads was closed to all traffic. just to the south of me about
half a mile, in milton there's flooding in the lowlands and a lot of fife,
which is on low ground, looks like a huge lake. federal way seems to be ok.

I am fine where I am. My new apartment overlooks a pond which now looks
like a lake! It used to end just to the right of my apartment, now it
ends to the left so I have a waterfront view :) It's nice as I now have
ducks swimming in front of my balcony. Duckie would love it!
There are a lot of places near here that got hit hard, especially those
who live close to the rivers. They all crested way above where they
should be, and all broke records. People who had built retaining walls
were sad to find out that they didn't build high enough. One family who
was living in a mobile home while building their dream home saw their
mobile home get carried down the river, and now the water is destroying
their dream home. Another couple watched as their house was carried
down the river. It's very sad. There are also many little towns that
look like Katrina hit. Washington has been declared a disaster area.
But I'm OK.
Carole :)

Carole, Kate, Becky,
Glad you checked in.
Carole, glad you are ok. Nice that you get to watch the duckies go right by
your balcony now. ;-)
It is sad when the flooding happens and uproots so many lives. I was
watching it on the weather channel yesterday for awhile.
Kate, I was hearing about Federal Way from Denise, her son Johnie had to go
work up that way yesterday. So I was really thinking of you. Glad you are on
higher grounds. I hear they were evacualing (sp) Denises area.
Becky, I hope you will be safe from the flooding. I hope things are over for
all of you. But I think they were saying you would get a break for now and
then something else was coming in.
We just got some rain today from the storm moving down, but nothing like
what you all are having up that way.

Six communities in my county set record highs; some were 94
with lows in the 60's. But it's supposed to be cooler the rest
of this week.
... I'm going out like I came in, kicking and screaming.
Squirrely - 09 Nov 2006 04:58 GMT
Jim just told me that a little bit ago. Boy you guys were sweating.
We broke the record yesterday at 81. It didn't get that high today because
of the rain. But we didn't get much like I thought we were going to.
