Any markers to differentiate post viral from a flare?

Hi all,

Does anyone have a link to a resource that describes the difference
between post viral arthritis and a flare of an autoimmune arthritis? I'm
slowly getting more and more joints involved in this current
flare/reaction, and I'd like to know if it's just post-viral arthritis
(like the post-viral pericarditis I had a few months ago) or if its the
spondyloarthritis flaring up again. The issue is I had more sacroiliac
pain before the infection, so it could be either! I need to keep track
of what's happening, in as much detail as possible, because of recent
medication changes and new medications as well as being able to plot the
course of the autoimmune arthritis for future reference.

Regards,

Ari

I don't have a site, but I remember reading something about white blood cell
counts and granulocyte differences. I do remember that it takes a blood
test.

Thanks Adelle. Unfortunately, that won't show anything in me: my white
cell counts are abnormal in several ways. I was hoping for something a
bit more along the lines of gross symptom differentiation, such as a
particular series of joints affected in a certain order more commonly in
post-viral arthritis cases or something similar.
