Came home for the morning and will be doing this more often as the month
comes to a close. I can now get into the house on foot with my walker and
getting my foot over the 3.5 inch step to get into the house. Been doing
that in therapy for about a week now. Wayne had to lift the wheelchair
before to get me in. Walked around the house with my walker today -- first
function use of walker. Al (PT GUY) would have killed me if he had seen it.
The weather has cooled off and I've been walking outside in PT every day I
can. It is significantly harder on concrete and carpet than on vinyl or tile
but I'm not getting exhausted like I used to after PT. We are working on
endurance and consistency in PT and I can really go home anytime I want but
I want to be stronger when I do.
At the house I have an organizer meeting me tomorrow to get the house in
order from all the changes I have to make in order to use my bedroom and
bathroom. Big changes in the bathroom as you can imagine. I will be able to
use the toilet as it is now but it feels crowed with a bedside commode over
it and me on a walker to access it. Then the shower - I didn't try the step
down into it today but will tomorrow. My legs feel a little shakey after
all the other things I did today and don't want to fall.
Hope everyone is well. It's hit or miss whether or not I find the NG on my
cell phone but I'll be home again tomorrow and can read messages then. TTFN

How nice to just see your name on a post. Glad you are so much improved,
and good luck on getting the house fixed just right so you will be able to
go home.

Oh Diane, it is so good to see you. I am glad you will be able to get home
more. I bet you can't wait to get out of there.
I am glad you are doing so well. I sure hope your recovery will be more
speedy for you so you can get some of the normal life you had before.

So glad to see you at home again. Changes are hard for everyone, but at
least they will allow you to come home.
Take it easy...one step at a time...
Lots of prayers and hugs

I haven't been able to type much this week, but it is sooooooo good to see
you posting and to hear how well you are doing. You have had such a monster
battle to go through. Your determination and strength of will are a
wonderful example for all of us. You know, of course, that the prayers for
you continue - we still have a ways to go.
