Hello all. Again my Dr. has given me a drug I know nothing about. It's
called Hydromorph Contin and he's prescribed it for my pain related to
spinal stenosis.

Wondering if anyone has anything good or bad to say about it.

It doesn't seem as powerful as percocet or others. But it is "contin"
so I guess the time release is preferable to just a couple of hours.

Thanks for any info.

Well, this may not be what you are after, but it's "defined" here:

http://www.rxmed.com/b.main/b2.pharmaceutical/b2.1.monographs/CPS-%20Monographs/
CPS-%20(General%20Monographs-%20H)/HYDROMORPH%20CONTIN.html

Or this one if that doesn't work:

Hope that helps.

Smokie Darling (Annie) - not been on it, though I do take
hydromorphone/ibuprofen (Vicuprofen)

Thank You Annie. Yes, I found such sites and similar. But I was wanting
more, "first hand" comments.

There is nothing like getting the info straight from the horses mouth
so to speak. Especially from those who use it for similar pain.

Thanks again.

Paul.

Hi Paul,
I am not familiar with the med you have mentioned but I also have spinal
stenosis and if this is a good pain reliever please let me know what you
think of it. Are you planning on having surgery? I am planning surgery after
the holidays if I can hold on until then.

Hey JB. They seem to be working fairly well on my pain. They have the
usually side-effects..constipation etc...My concern with pain meds
always centers around their addictiveness and long term effects.

I see a Neurologist for the first time in January so I suppose the
question of surgery will come up then.
My family Dr. thinks they wont want to do it at this time..Due to the
fact I'm a hemophiliac with hep-c...
I hope you're managing your pain and life-style ok..All the best.

Paul
