Dont want to bore everyone with my past history but it can be seen
under 'chronic back pain' there for those interested

Ok got results back from GP (UK NHS here btw :-/  )  As expected the
xray didn't show up soft tissue damage but it did show that my whole
spine is Degenerating (degenerating disc disease is mentioned many
times on the report) GP said that it would need further investigation
and has rreferred me to the ''back clinic''. Unfortunatly this could
take a few months so i am going to be in limbo land for a while. What
on earth does this mean and what am I to expect next? Remembering Im in
Scotland and at the mercy of the NHS.

TIA

Frankie

Welcome to the ASA sandbox and gimme ALL your chocolate.

Now that you've been choco-mugged, here ya go:

   http://www.spineuniverse.com/displayarticle.php/article42.html

Lots there...if you can allow the discs to heal up without surgery
that's the ideal. They'll want to do ESI's before cutting, so many ppl.here
can tell ya about those injections and they've helped a buncha us Gimps.
Gimp isn't perjorative; it's what we call ourselves here.

After these links then look at the DJD ( J is for joint) pages because
that often follows after DDD.

The main thing is to baby your back and if it hurts to do dat, don't DO
dat.

Yeah, Reisa was right to direct ya here rather than leaving you at
ASC-P. Props to ya, rk. LOL

Hugs from Rosie

Frankie, I can't really help you any, but want you to know how sorry I am
that you need to be here.  But here is the best place for you to be to
discuss your pain and problems.  I hope you won't have to wait long to get
to the "back clinic" since you really do need someone who can diagnose and
treat all your problems.

Thanks for the welcome :-)
Good to know that I have a place where I can talk about this now. Would
be interested to hear from any one in the UK that can tell me what
hurdles to expect along the way in trying to get the proper treatment /
tests etc & what timescales other people have faced within the NHS.

Thanks again

Frankie
