The GI doctor's office called. Before they get into the barium contrast,
etc., the doc wants me to have a nuclear scan for Meckel's Diverticulum.
(en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meckel's_diverticulum) I had never heard of it so had
to look it up on the internet. That would be a "quick" solution if that's
what's this is. It would mean surgery, of course, but then maybe all this
brouhaha would be done and over with and I could get some energy back. This
feeling like a weak kitten is not a fun thing.

any idea how quickly they can get you in? I'm sure we'll all feel better
(though not as much as YOU will!) when they figure out what is causing all
of this.

No, they were just calling to see if there were any dates I would be
unavailable. I told them I was going on a cruise with my husband the last
week of November. (I am, too, if I have to take triple my pred for it!).

DeeTee, glad they're getting you in so soon. The sooner they find out
what's wrong, the sooner they can start treating it.

Dee Tee,
I have you on my prayer list for that time and I am hoping they finally find
the answer so that they can fix you. I am hoping that you will soon be well
and be able to do what you want to do again.

all right lady -- you are on the prayer list. I think you have found
people who are more in your court than they were in the DC area. Are you
still having to see army doctors?

See -- this new set of doctors means you are getting answers finally.
yippeeee I also think that is why you think things are happening so
quickly. Nothing ever happened quickly when you were dealing with your
last set of doctors -- that is unless you were rushed in an emergency. I
am so glad for you that you are being treated so well now.

I haven't been following your posts on this subject, but I know a little
about Meckel's Diverticulum. Do you still have your appendix? If not,
during an appendectomy they'd have either removed it or at least let you
know about it afterwards (then again, doctors sharing information with
patients also varies with era/country/etc, so maybe not).
Regards,
Ari

They removed my appendix when they did my hysterectomy, but didn't say
anything about any extra parts. Of course, it may not have been misbehaving
then and everything I've read so far says that as long as it behaves, they
don't bother with it.

When is this going to happen DeeTee? Sure hope this is the thing.
Googled it too and said things like mostly in men and in patients under
10 years of age but then says things like rarely shows and is found most
often in autopsy. Not a good sign.
Sure hope this is your problem. And if not the nuking finds what ever is
there causing the bleeding.
Applause to the dr. who even thought of this one. I mean since it occurs
mostly in men, you could have gotten a doctor who said ' never happens
in women' like they did to me when I question AS as a diagnosis for my
pain. Only happens in men said several doctors. Yeah right. Aim will
step up and argue against that one.
Sure hope they find the problem.

The test is Wednesday, the 18th, at noon. The GI doc has been in practice
for 24 years and has only ever seen this twice, but he said the symptoms
were soooooo textbook. It might be. In a way I hope so 'cause it's fixable!
You know what I mean.
I'm glad he's good at what he does. He did both my colonoscopy and my
endoscopy.

If it is Meckel's ask him if you can bring it home in a jar of alcohol
:-) hehehehe (they wouldn't let me bring back my appendix, or my hips...)
