I don't remember who first mentioned sierratradingpost.com on here, but
it was someone who posted about Birkenstocks. I ordered those and wore
them all summer :)

Now that it's fall, I ordered a pair of Acorn Big Easy's from the same
website. They came yesterday and they are SO comfy. They are listed as
slippers but when you get them, they have soles on them and it says on
the tag that they are for casual wear. The tops are leather and so soft.
This is like walking on air! I'm going to be wearing these things all
over the place. They are the best.

I had New Balance sneakers once...I sent them off to Salvation Army.
They were so uncomfortable on my feet. They were not wide enough for me
and I couldn't find them in wide widths. Now that I'm older, I'm too
lazy to tie shoelaces, so I like slip ons :)))

That's a shame, but I guess everyone's feet are different.  I've had no
trouble finding New Balance in wide widths though.  The last pair I even
bought at Famous Footwear, not a specific athletic shoe place.  My picky feet
insist on wide width, SL-2 last (for high arches) NBs.  I keep wishing they'd
show up in Sierra Trading Post more, but so few models are made on the SL-2
last that they never seem to make the closeout list.  But there are plenty of
other good athletic shoes out there to choose from.

i have to wear the wide widths, too, and i don't have any problem finding
them at g.i. joe's, big 5, sport's authority and famous footwear.  i've even
found them at costco, on occassion, but not as often.

The ones I had were regular width and they were just too tight. I
thought they'd stretch out after a few wearings but they didn't. And now
I have a problem bending over to tie shoes, so I just stick to slip ons.
Nice and easy :))  Yea, I know, I'm getting OLD, LOL :)))

retying them, cuz i'm getting old, too.

I can't wear Betulas, only the original, Footprints and some Tatami footbeds
will work for my feet.  My mom calls our type of feet "good German walking
feet" so I guess it's appropriate that they like good German shoes!

mine are flat, stubby and wide, so i don't know why the betulas are the most
comfortable for me, but they are.

It might be that "flat" part.  My problem with them is not enough arch
support.  Seems to me that Duckie's the same way.
