Boy Tom,
I think the flu is worse.  I am into my fourth week of fighting
a flu and will be going to the doctor again today since it feels
like it has settled in my chest.  I have not been able to inject
Enbrel because I worry about infections.  I feel miserable.  I
cannot sleep.  I am so grumpy and fatigued.
My hubby is making me feel guilty because all I do is sit and
cough and wonder around at night (not much on TV at 2:00 am.)
I don't have energy to clean the house, do laundry or cook.....
I cannot read since my eyes are being weird and I get a headache...

I am sorry to whine...especially since it sounds like you are
fighting the same things.  Take care...

Lori and Tom,

First, Lori, thanks for your email yesterday. I didnt answer it,
but I did read it and appreciate it despite my pissiness. :-)

OK, for both of you,
I have a guaranteed flu remedy. My grandfather taught it to my mom
and she taught it to me. And it really does make you feel better.

Get a mug, fill with boiling water to 3/4 full
  add 2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
  add 2 Tablespoons Honey
add a small pat of butter
  add a sprinkle of cinnamon
  add a shot of rum

drink this as hot as you can stand it (dont burn yourself)
repeat until better (or drunk ;-> )

Seriously though, it really works well - is like homemade nyquil but
tastes good. The honey coats your throat, the lemon opens up the
bronchioles, the cinnamon opens your sinuses, as does the steam, the
rum relaxes the cough, and the butter is for flavor, basically, and is
optional.

Hope you guys both feel better!!!!!!

Lori and Tom,
I'm sorry you're both feeling so bad.  I hope you feel better soon.
Aim's remedy sounds like a winner.
Hugs,
Linda T.

If you don't have rum just get a bottle of wine...drink
it and you will feel great for a few hours anyway.

so sad to know it was just a couple of weeks later that she died.  The one
good thing I can say that came out of Lori and Diane Edens and others dying
is those of us who have learned to call our doctors *quickly* when any virus
hangs on too long or when we have any sign of an infection.  It is the least
we can do to honor their memory.

Amen Nann. And when I head to the dreaded ER [always a weekend...] and
don't get the reaction to my sickness that I expect, I call my doctor as
soon as his office is open. They agreee with me and want to know the
name of the idiot doctor in the ER. That doctor gets a call.
ah revenge is sweet.
