I realize this has been asked here before but has or is anyone on lyrica for
nerve pain in the feet?  How much and how often?

I had surgery for tendon sheath inflammation and and had part of the
ligament in my foot cut to promote walking motion with NO pain. The surgery
was a month ago and that pain is gone but the pain from swelling and nerve
pain is worse than before, hence the doctor wants me to try lyrica.

I have been on neurotin but it made me have a personality change and had to
stop it.   Doc told me this drug does not work like neurotin does in its
chemical make up, so I started it tonight.

I also have lupus and arthritis and spondylosis of the spine, so any one got
info on this drug and if it helps?
pro or con

thanks again for all your help in advance

It is helping me incredibly.  I worked my way up to 150 mg 3 x a day.  I
know exactly when my dose is due by the moment.  No personality change and
no drowsiness.  Can't say there is any con except the cost - my medical plan
does not cover it.  Other than that I think I am okay.

Hi Kelly
Lyrica is also helping my neuropathy in my feet but it is causing my feet
and hands to swell terribly. my pharmacist says this is a side effect. are
you having this problem? I skipped a dose and my feet hurt terribly. don't
know which is the worse.

Hi-

I take Lyrica with pretty good results.  I went off of it for a while
to try something different, and for one night it was hell!  My neuro
says that increases need to be done slowly and I will tell you that
it's not good to stop abruptly either.  It has helped greatly with the
nerve pain including burning feet.  My dose is low right now but will
be increased shortly.  Like it was said, the price is awful.  I wish I
had my old prescription plan, but we moved on to new employment.  Even
though it is covered under our plan, since there is no generic (it's
too nes) the cost is astronomical.  I take Lyrica for my MS
tingling/burning.

Gee Gary

I was a royal "B" on neurotin. I mean that. I am usually NOT that way,
although YOU may feel differntly :)

I started this drug night before last but the vision changes this morning
and not good and yesterday my mind was not functioning by noon after a 9 am
dose.  I was like on a 7 day drunk and could not function or think.   So if
this happens again, I am not taking the morning dose, cause I can't function
like that.

So you hitting the balls straighter now?

Glad to see you answer, even though you know I am going to raz you

Janers,

I haven't tried Lyrica but wanted to comment on the surgery.  I had
surgery 6 weeks ago on my thumb for cyst and bone spurs.  Ever since
the surgery I've had tremendous swelling and pain.  I know what your
talking about the nerve pain from the surgery.  I just keep taking my
liquid advil.  Seems to help best for me.  I hope you get some relief.
I do take Neurontin but I can only take 100mg at night or I can't
funtion.

I wish I could take that stuff advil or motrin or any of those but I can't
due to my stomach.  I have been diagnosed with achalasia where the opening
is not so big and the esophagus is slow to get food down.  NOW along with
that GERD.   some fun.  Plus cardiac doc said NO to those drugs they are
hard on heart and kidneys. Two thing lupus patients need to watch out for.

I wish you well with your surgery outcome.
I am stopping the am dose of lyrica because it makes my vision VERY blurred
for a long time after the am dose, and I can't concentrate or say what I
want to.  About 6pm it is better and that is a LONG time to wait. By then it
is near the pm dose LOL.  I can't do that any more.  Puts me in bed at 11 am
till a good  3 or 4 pm.  YOU can't get zip done or do anything like that
right??
Neurotin made me a BITCH with a complete personality change and it was
aweful.  I made a lot of bad moves on that drug. NEVER again...

keep smiling, that way NO one knows what you are up too.  LOL
