Was in the hospital over the labor day weekend, and my lung doctor
wanted to see me for follow up today,  so on tuesday morning I had to
call his office to have them work me into his schedule for today.
I of course called and they told me they would have to check with him
and get his approval to work me in and then they would let me know what
time I was scheduled for.   I said ok, no problem.

Waited all day to hear back from them on tuesday about the time, but
they never called!

Wednesday morning there is a knock at my door and it is the UPS man with
an overnight delivery envelope.   Turns out it was from the clinic and
had a piece of paper that told me what time my appointment was to be on
thursday!

Can you believe that they actually paid to have that information not
only delivered, but delivered overnight???!!!!

Holy cow!   they could have just picked up the phone for free and called
me to tell me that information!!!   It would have taken them all of 2
seconds to call me and wouldn't have cost them a thing!!!

What is wrong with our healthcare system these days that they would do
something so ridiculous???!!!!

Sheesh!!!!

WOW --- I still can't believe it!

The doctor probably directed it. He wanted to make absolutely sure you got
the message so he could see you!

Good luck, sweetie! DeeTee

Makes as much sense as the government.  My son is employed by the
government.  He received paperwork that he absolutely had to have.  But
it was missent to me by another government agency-post office.  I had
to pay to have it sent back to him (now in college).  And now I'm
waiting for it to reappear again from that same agency!  Hmmm!  One
government agency can't handle the paperwork from another government
agency!  <g>

Donna, I can believe it! When I first went out on disability, my company
sent me everything UPS overnight. Even one piece of paper that said I
had to call their disability dept was sent that way. When I called I
told them what a waste it was. I don't think the woman I was speaking to
really cared, but I let her know. So if you wonder why your cell phone
bill is as high as it is, this is one of the reasons!

Truth is that they probably tried and could not make contact with you and
that it is about lawsuits.   If we knew how much of our life is screwed
around because of some dam lawyer,,,,, we would revolt and throw the bums
out.

i simply must say here, that were it not for a "damn lawyer", i might not
have received the health care that i badly needed because of a head-on
collision in 1971--that put me in the hospital for a year out of the first
18 months after it.  to this day, i bless my "damn lawyer's" dogged
determination and energy expenditure on my behalf, while i was flat on my
back and extremely vulnerable to the collusion that he nipped in the bud.
did he get paid well, of course, but i know for a fact that he earned it.

Hi Donna,

What is wrong with the health care system is Insurance companies &
medical clinics being publicly traded on the stock market & like Harv
said, the lawyers being behind it all.

It's like Enron, the richer they look the more people will buy their stock.

Hhhhm,,,,  Enron is a sign of the times.   They were like old Soddum in that
they had paid off all the political powers that be thinking they would be
safe to pull the biggest swindle the world has ever seen....  Do you know
how much Enron stock the state of Calf. had in that company?   There goes
someones retirement,,, bigtime.   Sooo its time to let Muscles run Calf. and
take the blame but he has done pretty well with that Zoo out there and it is
fun to watch from Texas what takes place in Calf.

wondering:  is it possible that your lung doctor's office/clinic phone
system was down at the time?  (which, to me, would make their overnight
express action more logical.)

That is a bit odd to me.   Thank godness they didn't try that for one of us -
people just won't believe us that FedEx and UPS next day just don't mean the
same thing here as elsewhere.  Even my Enbrel - guaranteed delivery by 10:30
didn't arrive until about 2 pm.  (still plenty cold though)  We had real
issues when we were selling our house in FL and FedExing stuff back and forth
- the lawyer's office thought an Friday overnight would get here on Sat. but
it here we didn't get it until Monday noon.  Made a special trip into town to
get it out again that day only to have the closing postponed a day by the
buyer.  C'est la vie!

I have wondered why more docs don't use email to send out appointment
reminders.
