We'll be in the area (San Jose) Oct. 12-15. <g>
Square Dance festival 13-15 at the county
fairgounds on Tully off US 101.  Staying
at friend's home in Berryessa off I-680.
Probably leaving afternoon of 15th for
San Rafael, then Santa Rosa on the 16th
to discover Hook & Ladder winery.  <g>

... Hello, operator?  Give me the number for 911!

Chief when you leave San Jose, will you be driving up 101 toward San Rafael?

We will be staying ___in___ San Rafael.   <g>

At Mary's sister's place.  Hopefully arrive about 2 pm, maybe 3 pm.

Do you mean you are staying in San Rafael on the 12th and driving back
and forth to San Jose via 280 or 101 on a daily basis?  Or will you be
leaving San Jose on the 15th or 16th and driving up then. We live in
Redwood City, right off 101 or 280, between the two.

We should arrive in San Jose Thursday October 12 and plan to leave
Sunday, October 15 noon-ish (at the conclusion of the square dance
festival), then head to San Rafael to spend that evening with Mary's
sister.   We'll spend nights Thursday, Friday and Saturday in San
Jose's Berryessa district (when we aren't dancing).

We want to visit Hook & Ladder winery in Santa Rosa Monday the
16th, then take highway 12 east to Smothers Bros' winery.

(We've always taken 280 and 1 to avoid traffice on US 101 through
 downtown San Francisco)

... What happens to the holes when Swiss cheese is eaten?
Duckie - 10 Sep 2006 06:09 GMT
Well, I agree on that traffic. Get off at the Woodside exit on 280 and I
will meet you for a quick soda at one of the little restaurant just off
280. How does that sound.
I will email you my phone number.

That's highway 84?

We may treat you to lunch if you haven't had anything by then.
These festivals usually end between 12 noon and 1 pm, and I
doubt if we'll eat any of the expensive foods on the fairgounds.
You know how these places are when they have a captive
crowd.  <g>  Not that we're cheap, but we'll be on the road for
another 7 or 8 days.  Yosemite, here we come!

> I will email you my phone number.

And I'll reply with Mary's cell number.

Perfect -- had to look but yes Woodside is 84 and is an exit off 280. Go
past the Alameda and on the left in about 3 streets will be a large
strip mall. Turn left on Massachusetts between the left and right sides
of the mall. You will turn into the strip section on the right side of
Mass.  There is a Quisnos [sp]; Round table pizza; a pretty good chinese
and then a sushi which I won't eat and something else I haven't been in.
There is also a Michael's craft and a Ross on that side and probably a
few other things.  How does that sound.

I saved everything, but cut the reply.

Subs, pizza and Chinese all sound darn good.
It will depend on what we have Th, Fri, Sat,
so we don't repeat anything too soon.  <g>
