Its been a month since I started on the MTX and she uped my dose to 15mg
weekly.  She is keeping me on the prednisone since I am doing well on it.
She said that I am looking better then when I first came to her in July.  I
still have swelling in my hands and feet from time to time and still having
issues with other joints as well as my back.

Hi Jennifer,,,,   You are doing really well.   It took my RD 3 months to get
me up to 15mg.    It is all about how our liver handles the Methx.   I
stayed at 17.5 mg for 7-8 years,,,, continued to work and support my family.
I also took Prednisone for most of those years,,,, 10 mg a day for two years
and 5 mg a day for the rest of those years.  It was until I started using
Enbrel that I could stop prednisone which I did and then it was done very
slowly.  Down a half pill which was too fast and I started with 1 mg
pred-pills with down one pill every two weeks.   Pred. is great stuff but it
makes our skin thin and our bones weak.   So I was glad to get off of it and
I still have the fat face that goes with pred.
If your RD is happy and you can function and do the things you need to
do in your life,,,, keep on keepen on.
