Well here are the photos of the new house (1 1/2 years old) we got.  The
upstairs is Pat and Guests area - office, spare bedroom, extra room (for
extra guests - needs flooring), and bathroom.  The downstairs is open
kitchen, dining area and great room, bathroom with soaker tub and shower,
and a Den which will be for my quilting room as well as the laundry.  We
will have to ramp the front steps and the steps from the garage (2) but the
backyard is flat and an open space to garden.  There is a subject to us
selling our house by September 15th but we have an offer on it that expires
September 15th subject to the sale of their house and our realtor assures us
that they will probably either sell or pay for our house anyhow and take it.
Sure hope so - don't want to lose this one.

Anyhow our house is still being shown but I have hired my daughter in law to
start the final packing of stuff I don't need in the next 2 months.  Will be
nice to know - September 15th should be the date.

Maybe now I will get my rituxan.  Things must come in 3's don't they??

Kelly, that house will undoubtedly be much easier to care for, and it looks
very comfortable.  surely hope all the subject tos will work out perfectly.

BC Canada Dee Tee.  We are actually moving out of town - the houses are
about $180,000 cheaper up island than Victoria which is the capital of the
province of BC.  It is a nice neighborhood on a hill above a small fishing
tourist village - about 6 restaurants, a corner store, fish market, marina,
hotel, several bed and breakfasts and some cottages on stilts.  It is 5
minute drive though from a major town with lots of shopping etc so that is
good.  The area behind the house is zoned agricultural and has I believe a
dairy farm but of more importance to us is a green space with a path to walk
the dog on.

So all is well - just hope no one else puts in an offer and forces us to
give it up.  We won't remove the subjects until ours sells so we aren't
stuck with 2 mortages.

The pics of your house are lovely Kelly, and I almost feel like I'm there
with you lol. I was in Vancouver last month and did a seaplane trip to some
of the smaller islands between there and Victoria.
We visited Maple Bay, Bedwell Harbour, Ganges etc., so lots of landings and
take offs, and lots of eyeballing the lovely houses in the area from the
seaplane.
You're a lucky girl to be living there.
Greetings from UK - we used to email regularly some years ago, if you
remember.

I do remember!  A great trip you took.  We will be right near Maple Bay - we
first saw a lovely house that we loved in Maple Bay but it sold before we
could get an offer in on it.   It was going to be on a golf course (they are
building one behind) so maybe that wasn't a great idea and the neighborhood
didn't look as down to earth as our new one does.

My son gets home from 2 weeks in England tomorrow night.  He had so much
fun.  I was jealous - we had so much fun in England when we went as a
family.

Glad you had a great trip and that you liked the house - I am going to be
some disappointed if I don't get it.

Nice to hear from you,
Kelly

kelly, what a great house! i LOVE the front porch. i hope all sales go
smoothly. what mountain is that you have a view of? (bad sentence
structure--sorry!)

Mt. Tzouhalem. There is a video and photos on this link
http://www.cowichanbay.com/  if anyone wants to see the Vancouver Island
area - it is really a beautiful community and area.  The mountain is small
but has hiking trails on it - not that I am in any shape to hike but i can
dream.  Pat's grandfather came out from England in 1902 and settled in the
Cowichan Valley in 1921.  He started the Lawn Tennis Club and had a tennis
court at his "gentleman remittance man" farm.  They had high teas and tennis
games regularly when my mother in law was growing up.  He also was a
founding member of the golf club.  It is really quite funny to listen to the
stories- especially some of the things that ended up in his suitcase from
the original home in England!  I think he did more playing than working.  He
did belong to the Anglican Church and everyone of the old timers talks of
his singing and which pew he sat in.  This is an old country church, still
standing which probably holds 75 if it does that.  Tea and Coffee served
afterwards complete with milk from the farm (not homogenized or pasterized
and complete with cream on top) and homemade goodies and lots of gossip.

The neat thing about the porch is if we move we will be in by Halloween.
For the past 8 years we have had 4 trick or treat people in the 8 years.  We
will have lots in the new neighborhood and it will be worth it to carve
pumpkins etc.  I love seeing the trick or treaters.

So things to look forward to.
Glad you liked it Diane.

I like!  Wanna trade?  heehee, I like that open floor plan for the living
space - our current kitchen is large but not well laid out and is cutt off
from the rest of the living space.  I've always had open floor plans until
now and truly dislike being stuck in the kitchen cooking.  Don't know about
the built-in microwave though, it's kinda high and my calves cramp up if I
stand on my toes these days, so I s'pose you should keep the house.  heehee

I hope you can get in and out of that soaker tub readily enough to be able to
benefit from it.

Your first challenge after settling in will be trying to sew without being
too distracted by the view.

I can quilt anywhere nann!  The first step will be getting me well enough to
quilt more than 1/2 hour every other day (which is why my friends know I am
not well - I usually quilt a couple of hours a day in small sections.)

I can usually get out of a soaker tub if it is wise enough.  If not I am
going to invest in a aqua lift.  My nightly bath is essential!  (sort of
like the quilting is to my sole.

Glad you like it and no you can't trade.  The microwave is kind of high
though.

Right across the street Cindy - it is protection I figure!  The houses are
sort of alike I am afraid.  That one is not my house.
