OK, y'all know I have had anemia for many years. I have also got
inflammatory arthritis of unknown origin. Add in two months of severe
abdominal cramps, multiple daily stools, and total exhaustion and you get
the picture. My PCP gave me an occult blood sampler for my stools and all
three samples tested positive for blood content. The next step is a
colonoscopy (even though I got an okay one three or four years ago).
Does this sound like Crohn's to y'all? If it is, I am reapplying for
disability. I've already been turned down twice for life insurance due to my
Sjogren's Syndrome.

Hate to see anyone diagnosed with any disease, but I gotta say,
"GO FOR IT, GAL."
... Tom better not sit down. Brain damage is irreversable.

Could be colitis rather than Crohns disease. Every women on my

DeeTee,
Has anyone investigated the spondyloarthropathies as far as the
inflammatory arthritis is concerned? There are a few that come with
both Crohns and UC.
My heart goes out to you, because between the two: life can be
miserable.

dee tee, a good possibility (crohns) or perhaps ulcerative colitis.
john's initial dx many years ago was UC. he went into remission for
nearly a decade. when it started up again about 2 years ago, he was
dx'd with crohns. he has joint pain in his hands and feet, but they
don't swell like mine do. he occasionally gets the all-over aches as i
do. and he's tired much of the time. no way could he work a regular job
(he's a photographer who can make his own hours). he also sometimes has
fevers, especially when the crohns was not under good control, which it
is now, but he's still on 5 mg prednisone along with a couple other
things.
i know you've been looking for a dx for years. i wouldn't wish this
disease on you, but maybe it would finally explain your symptoms.

"Inflammatory arthritis of unknown origin"? I'm highly interested in this.
Several of my docs feel there is some idiopathic rheumatoid or spondy going
on or at the very least something autoimmune or systemic. I'm quite
interested to hear if you show with sed rates or crp, etc. If you desire
not to answer here, please feel free to email me privately.
Thanks!

Yes to both. My sed rate and my crp have been elevated for many years.
However, RH factor is still normal.
