I have been feeling miserable with pains in the ankles and shoulder.
Somwhat to my surprise the doc was very pleased that the Methotrexate was
working so well.
The shoulder is, apparently tendonitis, which is no surprise.
The ankle is apparently no surprise and should be walked on as much as
possible. He all but shrugged and said, "Well, you have RA."
I wasn't quite sure how to take it and it didn't make me feel any better.
The only thing that makes my feet feel any better is wearing Kalso Earth
Shoes.

Have you had the ankle exrayed? I have had docs say something similar
to me that yours said. Upon exray, though the findings were that there
was more damage than was expected. In end I had to reassure one doc
with such platitudes as "Well you did not know" and etc when he was
upset by explaining how much damage there was.
Not that I am wishing that upon you and my hope is that it is "just
RA" and not damage from it.

His cavalier unconcern was somewhat reassuring for some reason, but it still
hurts and has been since June when I stepped off of a porch a little hard
and it started this.

you may have twisted/wrenched/pulled/mildly sprained something and that can
take forever to heal. I twisted my ankle in a tumble almost 2 years ago and
it was almost a year before it quit bothering me - but I wasn't bracing it as
much as I should have. Have you been wearing any kind of brace on it? That
wouuld help let any damage you might have done in that hard step heal up.

With a smart aleck remark like that, it would be the last time I saw
that doc, and it may be for you. Didn't you say in another post
you're moving to Phoenix and looking for a new RD?
