I started working at a new school in Phoenix and on the fourth day someone
ruptured a gas main so the whole place was quickly evacuated with people
veing strongly urged to hurry. I found myself in a know of fast moving
teenagers so there was little to do but trot along with them. It didn't
hurt to run but I thought that it might not really be a good idea and got
out of the group.
So, on the fifth day I could hardly stand, much less walk, and had to call
in sick. Not an auspicious beginning.

sorry to hear this Sy. As a teacher, I can relate to your situation
and well imagine how you feel.

Not only that, the gas line never even caught fire and we were all stuck out
on the football field for noting without so much as some smokey
entertainment to make it memorable.

I'm sorry to hear about your incident. I know there have been many
times I've done something and then a few days later paid for it. It
is at these times I wonder if I should just stay in the house and not
put myself in these situations. The I think "No" if I'm going to hurt
anyway I want to enjoy life while I hurt.
I hope your flare gets better soon.

Lucky that no harm was done...to the school and kids...
Sorry about your legs though...There is a woman on my other support group
for FM...She was on a plane that had to be evacuated in a hurry and she had
to run...
She is still trying to "get her legs back" so to speak...
I guess it shows that we CAN do somethings if we have to, but then of course
we pay....
Glad to hear that no real harm was done to the student body...Hope you feel
better soon...

Ouch! still, I'm glad they got everyone out of there, even if there weren't
any fireworks to watch afterwards.
I empathise - we had a big community thing here yesterday and I was working
hard all week on preparations and extra hard yesterday on events. Couldn't
even go to bed last night until my pain meds kicked in, started off sleeping
on the couch. The only thing that got me walking this morning was sheer
determination.
I hope you are recovering from the school's version of the running of the
bulls!

Pain meds...lots of them do help. I had manged to learn my limits until
i started building this house and i do have a tendency to forget what i
can no longer do and it is a bummer.
Are you in phoenix now. if so howdy neighbor. Im down in the 'ol
pueblo slowly working my way up a bit into the shadow of the mountain.
Hope that running didnt occur recently in that lovely phoenix august
weather. ouch
