What experience do people have with Glucosamine, MSM &
Chondrotin for arthritis?

Are these also good for people who haven't yet been diagnosed
with arthritis as a preventive measure?

What kind of dosage is recommended for these?

Do any of these have any side effects? say on liver,
kidney or any other sideeffects like nausea, stomach
problems etc?

Should any of these be avoided by people with any
existing conditions?

Obviously this query has been run up the flagpole by the
pharmaceutical industry.

The bads news about Glucosamine Chondroitin is the
"sulfate."  Over time the Chondroitin Sulfate ulcerates the
rectum or the rectal area.  It takes about a year for the
symptoms to manifest. It takes another 6 months for
the symptoms to completely subside, provided that one
hasn't strained the bowels and developed hemorhoidal
hernias in the interim. I am presuming it's the sulfate
that's guilty.

I thought Glucosamine, MSM & Chondroitin are 3 different
things? Or are they the same?
If they are different then which of the three causes the ulcers?
Are the other 2 safe to take?

Where is your cite.  This is the first time I have heard of this.  In fact I
know of people who have been taking it for years with no problems.

Indeed, I also know people who have been taking this for years with no
sign of this problem, would be interested to see the scientific info on
this

Those questions can be answered at the FDA's site
http://www.fda.gov   and at   http://www.rxlist.com

What are your citations for those statements?  (Other
than the usual rumor/conspiracy sites)

I've taken Glucosamine & MSM for about six months with no side effects.
It has offered some relief to my bad knee's. My uncle has taken
Glucosamine and Chondroitin for several years with no side effects. A
few months ago he started taking Goji juice for his arthritis and it
has helped a great deal. I just signed up with the company and I'm
going to try it also. You can find out more here..

A good summary of these three products can be found here:

http://www.coventrypainclinic.org.uk/jointpain-glucosamine.htm

I take a combo of these for OA and my knees are better but surgery was
required for my hip. HTH & good luck.

Not as supplements but I make sure I eat plenty of foods containing them
such as cereals, fresh fruits, etc.

Been taking it for  3 years with no side affects.  Before I started taking
it I was barely able to walk because of a bad him.  It bought me 18 months.

It can be used as a preventive measure.

Depends on your weight.

Not that I know of.  http://nccam.nih.gov/research/results/gait/qa.htm

Are you aware of the google search engine?  It works wonders.  I came up
with 680,000 references to glucosamine and FDA.  Surely all your questions
can be answered from these sites.

If the readers wanted links and references, they would be there
now and not in this thread. WAKE UP. THE READERS WANT NARRATIVES,
PERSONAL TESTIMONIES AND ANECDOTES.
My own statement on Glucosamine and Chondroitin Sulfate is exactly
that.
It is my own personal sensitivity to sulfa compounds.  When I take SMZ
to
knock out helicobacter pylori, I get the same side effect.  The
difference is
in the time period between the initial exposure and the manifestation
of side
effects.
Nothing in this thread is "right" or "wrong." There is a natural
variation in the
reactions to a drug within the same gene pool.
Cheers, David H

Thus this statement in your post:

Obviously this query has been run up the flagpole by the
   pharmaceutical industry.
The bad news about Glucosamie Chondroitin is the
"sulfate."  Over time the Chondroitin Sulfate ulcerates
the rectum or the rectal area............

........is based on your own, sole, personal sensitivity and not
from any trials, studies, publications, or other medical facts.

... Health freaks are going to feel stupid someday,
... lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
