Dear Folks,
My husband works and receives medical insurance. Now his company is
doing an audit to verify every member on his insurance. We even have
to verify that we're married (almost 30 years), the kids are our
biological kids (now they paid for the kids' birth. What is better
than the bills?), the kids are in school (ouch, we're homeschoolers so
I get to certify that! ha).
Any one else gone through this? My husband is a nervous wreck! He
really doesn't want to do this!
Thanks in advance,
Vickie B.

I don't think that this is anything unusual. When I worked (before
disability and Medicare), I would receive a similar questionaire about
once a year. It's probably to keep their records up to date and to be
sure they are not covering anybody who is no longer living/member or the
family/ eligible because of age, etc. etc.

Ann,
this is very different from the once a year questionaire. We have to
document everything. Everything has to arrive back to them fully
documented. Marriage license, Birth certificates, School certificates,
etc.

Yes, that is different. How about calling the insurance company and
asking why they need all this documentation. You can tell them as an
excuse for calling that you don't have all this information handy and it
is a hardship to gaher it if it's not necessary. It would seem that if
the employer is asking for it that it might be a breach of privacy???

another thought....why should they care if your kids are biologic or
adopted? This whole thing sounds pretty strange.
