Hi all,
I go back to the foot doctor again tomorrow, I have been trying to get some
good custom orthodics made and it is taking forever, the first pair was so
wide wouldn't fit in any shoe, so went back and he cut them a small amount
the plastic hurts my arch sometime but tried to get another pair of shoes,
since they discontinued the one I was wearing, anyway orthodic was still a
little bit to big in heel so took back, well he made it narrow alright but
now when I put my foot on it is almost all the way off the arch, so back
again tomorrow and I am sure I will need a new pair and I don't think I
should have to pay another 400 for them.
My feet have been hurting which makes my back hurt, but lately I noticed
that the toes fell like they are on fire and at night you feel pains in the
base of both big toes, when RA is acting int he feet what exactly do you
feel? When I was first diagnosed I have erosions in the 1 and 5 metatarsal
so they were there, and then been on enbrle and mtx but the last foot x-rays
should some more erosions, so I am not sure if hits is working, but I had
only been on enbrel a month before those pics had been taken so it could
have been from the years with just mtx.
I am so discouraged, the feet hurt which makes the back bad, it was spasms
last night and I was told that RA has nothing to do with the back hurting so
I am at a loss.
How do you know when your RA is progressing> I have an appt with the RA doc
in 3 weeks so I will talk to him also, he may suggest Remicade, but I am not
sure about hat one, since I have heard so ,many people say that they get
allergic reactions.
Well any infor would be great
Thanks
Becky

Hi Becky, Good luck with the foot doc tomorrow. The doc could just
solve quite a few of your problems. Try not to clump your problems with
one reason like RA. You could have a pinched nerve in your lower back
causing the fire in your toes and good inserts solved that with a friend of
mine.

Becky,
I sure hope they get this worked out for you with no extra cost to you. It
was their fault for not getting it right the first time.
When I had to go have inserts made or whatever they are called because of my
high arches, they told me to bring in the shoes I wear the most so they
could fit it to them. I am surprised they didn't do that.
I hope things work out so that you get the help you need and that your feet
and back settle down.

Thanks Jo,
I just got back and the doctor is so nice, he couldn't figure out why he cut
them like that either, so he ordered me a new pair at no cost to me again,
this will be the third pair, maybe that will be a charm, I see the RA doc in
2 weeks, and will talk to him about the fact that I think the RA is flaring
again, In the meantime I guess I will go on like normal and just take extra
Advil since the orthodics seem to really making my lower back hurt when I
walk, but that is life.
thanks again

sounds like a step in the right direction on the orthotics. If the doctor
even thinks they look wrong, than there's more hope of them being right next
time. Got my fingers crossed for you.
