Went back to my Primary today for the fatique I have been experiencing for
the last month. He put me on provigil. Has anyone else been on this?
All my swelling is just about gone in my ankles, feet, hands and wrists.
Doc told me to still see the Rheumatologist, I shouldn't be experiencing
this amount of fatique if I didn't have something going on. He said that
even though all my testing is normal that I still have the pain and
stiffness and it should be checked out. I agree with it and I go see the
Rheumotologist on the 20th.
I have been so sleepy lately, I work a 6 hour evening shift from 6pm to
12am. Not to hard either. I sleep from about 1:00am to about 7:00am
continuesly until my son wakes me up. and then I'm up and down until about
9:30am. I only work 4 days a week as well. As anyone experienced the
fatique along with the RA?

Yes many have talked about here and it is normal for a person with
inflam.arth. Please fully inform the RD about how you feel and where you
hurt,,, a full history of yourself. It does matter and then come back here
and talk about it with people who want to help you do the best you can with
what you have.

Fatique is part of the RA process - it is like wading in mud. Morning
stiffness, swelling symetrical all count. A good page to check out is
http://www.arthritis.co.za/ Dr. Doc has written things in terms most people
can understand.
Make sure you are treated before damage with dmards (disease modifying anti
rheumatic drugs). The rd (rheumatologist) will be looking for swelling that
is not obvious - if your hands are obviously swelling and hot that is a sign
it is time to get that swelling down before any damage.
Good luck with the RD and please let us know what happens - we really do
care here.

Surveys have even shown that folks with inflammatory arthritis say the
faftigue is a bigger problem than the pain. It feels like something just
sucks all the energy out of you. Keep that RD appointment on the 20th - it
surely sounds like you need more checking out and more thorough treatment.
