Fire Chief - 04 Jul 2006 16:16 GMT Maybe, just maybe, I have a working link to the group.
Since I posted at Jo's, Mary and I visited Jo & Charlie, Marysville, Beale AFB, Fremont, and Milpitas before attending her grandson's graduation in San Jose. On the return trip to SoCal, we stopped at "wine country" in Paso Robles and the Santa Ynez Valley in Los Olivos before heading to Solvang.
Last weekend we attended the Tim Conway-Harvey Korman show. There wasn't a dry eye in the audience, everyone was laughing so hard. Poor Harvey, taling about aging (he mentioned he had turned 79 the week before) and all the problems that's brought into his life. He used to enjoy swimming, football, tennis, the trampoline, sex. In response to a remark in the audience, "What? Sex on a trampoline is dangerous?" He now gets from bed up 3 or 4 times, then he has such a problem doing anything. He keeps talking to "it" to encourage "it" to do something. His wife asks him who he talking to and he replies, "No one you remember." Then if he does anything, he never knows where it's going.....the floor, in the bowl, on the mother-in-law's picture.
He has such a hard time getting dressed. His toes snag on the underwear. He gets a leg in the wrong hole. And those "aging" spots on his hands!
Tim talked about flying.....how the airlines pay millions for a plane with a $16 PA system that snaps, pops and crackles so you can't understand the pilot's announcements. And the stewardresses acting cute while giving emergency instructions, such as how if the plane loses pressure, a mask will drop down and passengers can use them to help their breathing. "If a mask drops down in front of me, the only thing that would help me is a case of Depends."
They performed a few skits, including SPEED-O-AIR with Tim in the role of the slower-than-a-snail counter attendant. And the "golf" skit from Carol's show, with shortie Tim. And the "dentist" skit also from Carol's show. Tim was the assistant for a dentist who was out of the office, studying Dentistry for Dummies, when Harvey came in with a toothache. He ended up jabbing himself with novacain in the hand, in the leg, in the butt.
Nothing new on the arthritis scene. Recovered from the STATIN reaction to the anti-inflammatory meds. PCP now has me on a $65/month OMEGA-3 Rx, but my co-pay is only $9 (at an honest pharmacy after Rite-Aid tried to charge the full price).
Now I need to catch up on everyone's moves, change of ISP, and other tales of life.
... Firemen have longer hoses.

Surely hope you're back to stay. Enjoyed your > report on the show; can understand why everyone was laughing so hard. Surprisingly (or not) the women were laughing harder at the innuendos than the men. I suspect the men KNEW what Harvey was talking about and it wasn't as funny to them. <g>
Since receiving that ONE hormone injection in August 2002, I've been having some of the symptoms Harvey was talking about. I'm glad I looked up the drug after experiencing breathing problems -- shortness of breath -- and decided not to complete the series.
One of the side effects reported by the manufacturer and FDA was AS. "OH, OH!" I said to myself. "If I already have AS, how is this drug going to affect it?"
Tom & Dick Smothers were funny, but not nearly as hilarious as Tim and Harvey.
... 9-1-1: We're here to save your a.s, not kiss it.
DeeTee and Bob Taggart - 05 Jul 2006 22:44 GMT I wrote a letter to Tim Conway once when I was a teen. He wrote back and I still have the letter in one of my scrapbooks. He said he would have replied in person but he couldn't find his other shoe. The whole letter was written in that vein. He's always been one of my favorite commedians.

Fire Chief - 16 Jul 2006 19:48 GMT > Are you sure you didn't get stuck in wine country for an extended period!?? > Can't remember huh? With my meds, I have to be very careful about what and how much I drink. And Mary's the only driver, so she has to be careful also.
>> Last weekend we attended the Tim Conway-Harvey Korman show.
> Ahhh, I've heard they were touring again. What a pair!! > They have always made me laugh 'till I hurt. Besides the moist eyes, I'm sure there were more than just a few sore ribs in the audience. And their laughing at each other's ad libsand prop failures probably hurt their sides.
> Not much change here to speak of....playing with a bit of plantar facitis I've was visiting podiatrists 3 to 4 times yearly after developing that in 1966. Since about 1994, it's been every 8 weeks to get the toe nails trimmed and the plantar facitis treated.
Duckie - 06 Jul 2006 05:50 GMT Well look what the cat dragged in... You missed us Chief -- we are now in Redwood City. Maybe the next trip. email me at duckie 412 at g mail dot com and I will send you my real email. Duckie

Fire Chief - 06 Jul 2006 06:19 GMT > Well look what the cat dragged in... > You missed us Chief -- we are now in Redwood City. Nuts, and we were up in the area 7 days in June. That's going to give me a chance to "twist" Mary's arm and take me to the Redwood City FD. <g> Hmmmmm, 755 Marshall Street, from the State Fire Marshal's directory.
> Maybe the next trip. Next graduation is 3 years away. <g> But Mary's son and daughter still live in the area and we're sure to be back up before 2009. At least there won't be snow on the ground if we visit in December. Haven't lived in snow country since we left Boston in early 1944 - I had just finished the first half of the 2nd grade and completed it (and the 3rd) down South.

Sycuan Reservation, and San Pasqual Reservation, all in California, plus one from Bowling Green, KY that my son sent me.
Last June, on the trip through NorCal Redwoods, Oregon, Idaho and Utah, I added 50 to the collection.

I was always taught not to say "congratulations" because it sounds tacky, like someone got lucky and trapped the prey. <g>
So I'll just send best wishes for both of you. May you have many, many, many happy years together.
I was surprised last December to hear you had moved from SoCal to the Hoosier State. <g>

I finally got myself over to look at your pictures (catching up after vacation, ya know!) What a beautiful setting for the wedding! And I love your dress - you may have had issues with invading bugs, but that overlay looks so nice - simple but elegant all around. And the best part is that everyone looks seriously happy - a truly good start to a marriage!
(BTW, your parents look much to young to have daughters the age of you and your sister! <bg>)

Kelly - 18 Jul 2006 16:25 GMT She does look young but so beautiful in her dress. I have to say I really enjoyed looking at your pictures - it was obviously a great wedding - you looked so happy and beautiful as did your wedding party. May you and your husband enjoy many happy years.

(and a 29 year old stepdaughter, but as she's a "step", I can claim I'm too young to be her mom, even though I'm not!) (and I'm one of those who looks young too - it gets interesting with the DH being 12 years older and looking more his age. Folks really think he robbed the cradle! heehee)
But I'm not surprised that that you and your sister are soo good looking, now that I've seen the genetic stock!
