Well I just had to brag a bit our local OSU Beavers won the national
championship for baseball.  They returned home today and I just had to
go to the celebration.  It was fun several thousand people turned out
to greet them.   The local paper and every paper in the state ran
banner headlines on this one.  They beat North Carolina and shut out
Rice (sorry Harv). They were the underdog for every game (they didn't
even get a national seed), and ESPN said they were " tougher than crab
grass to kill"   and "they were harder to evict from Omaha (site of
the College world series) than Cindy Sheehan at George W's Ranch (not
a political statement)".   Very, very fun afternoon.  When it comes to
baseball the NW don't get no respect but they do now.  Baseball teams
come from the sunshine state right????  They were the ultimate
comeback kids, playing 6 elimination games and the pitchers only had a
couple days rest before they had to play another game. Sometimes the
underdogs win with true grit and heart.
