Boy how dumb can one be.

I guess it was not the stomach flu.

So far I know I have a massive UTI. It must be bad as he gave me 100
Nitrofurantoin to take. I have to take 4 a day.

I kind of figured I was in bad shape when I saw the iv bag they hooked me up
too. It was the largest I have ever seen. Gave it all to me.

They gave me iv shot of phergan (sp).

Then they gave me a 2 mg pill of ativan. Man that stuff hits like a whallop.
I was walking around like I was drunk. Jim got a big kick out of it. I slept
from 4-10 tonight. Got some good sleep out of it. ;-)

I guess I put this off too long. The dr seemed to be more concerned about
the virus I had before the tummy stuff started. They are also so concerned I
am not getting medical treatment for the other serious illnesses I have. So
they are going to try to work with me on that.

I have to go back in two days to see another dr.

He ran chest xray, tummy xrays, ekg, blood and urnine work. They seem to be
pretty thorough at county hospital.

I was told that the adrenal masses could be causing most of my problems so
they want to look more into that issue.

I was dissapointed that they didn't give me the solumedrol iv shot or pred.
But I guess we need to get this UTI under some kind of control first.

I didn't know, I didn't have any symptoms that I thought would be a UTI. But
they told me today that I had all the classic symptoms. The diahrea,
vomiting, and pain is tummy. Those are also symptoms of addisons crisis and
that is what I thought was happening.

My temp made it to 100 at 9:30 this morning after 8:30 tylenol.

Sometime soon there is a clinic that is suppost to open in our area. You can
see a dr for $40 that gives you the dr appt, meds you need, lab and xray
work. Also if hubby has same thing as me, say virus, flu, they check him out
free. I was waiting for them to open. I thought it said in the paper May or
June but rechecked two days ago and it was June or July. Jim went over to
check. They are not open yet. So I was hoping to hold out till then but with
the electric being off yesterday it showed me how really sick I was so had
to go in today.

I started throwing up bad at 6 when the electric went off (100 degree day)
and didn't stop till 3 this morning. Then got up at 7 throwing up more (well
dry heaving at this point). So I told Jim even though we didn't have the
money, I had to go in.

I can only imagine what this bill will be and don't have a clue how we are
going to pay it, but I am sure the Lord will provide somehow.

We have had to borrow every other month from his parents to pay rent and
bills and get groceries as it is.

We have tried every avenue that is out there and they all tell us the same
thing. Too much money because of an IRA Jim has. Or either that or no
dependant children living with us. I don't know how some people do it.

Oh well this is getting too long.

Wanted to thank all for the prayers it is working. Keep them up please
because I don't know what the dr in two days will say after all the reports
are in. ;-)

More prayers on the way SJ.

Don't worry about the bills, your health is more important. See if they
have some type of assistance you can apply for at the doctor's office. I
know what you are going through as my best friend has the same problem.
She can't get assistance because she has a retirement fund and they told
her she had to go through all of that before she could get food stamps
or anything else. She's been out of work for almost a year and just had
surgery for fibroids and now has complications. So she has to cash in
her retirement account just to pay rent. It's insane.

Take care of yourself and remember you are loved!

Hugs,
Carole

Thank you all, I sure hope things do work out for us finally. I hope this
was all my problems and once done with pills I will feel much better. I am
sick and tired of being sick and tired. ;-)

Thank you so much Carole.

you and Jim are always in my prayers, SJ, and that will continue.  Sending
lots of hugs to go with the prayers for both of you.  I'm glad you went in as
it sounds like you really, really needed to.  Something will work out with
the bill, don't wpend energy worrying about that.  For now, just get well.  I
am so glad you found attentive docs when you went to the ER.

Jo,

I had no idea that all of this was going on.

I'm glad that you finally went in to see a doc.

I'm hoping that they will take care of this UTI and finally get you
some help on the other issues.

Keeping you in my prayers,
Char

Jo, you are always on my prayer list.  Glad you did go to the hospital; you
just have too much going on not to have medical care.  I'm still praying for
Jim to get another job that pays more and has good benefits.  Get well soon.

Jo,

Glad to hear you are feeling better.  If it is a county hospital you
might be able to get some help with your bill or they might even write
some or all of it off.  When you get the bill go to patient assistance.
and see.

We have one of those clinics in our area that just opened a few months
ago.  I go by there every day, but I don't see many cars parked there.
I believe it will be big sometime in the future but it might take it a
while to take off.  I hope it stays open.

You don't do things part way, do you? Prayers continuing! So glad you went
to the hospital.

Warning - Soap box is being set up - OK - I'm standing on it now, so don't
read further if you don't want to hear a frustrated Democrat -

The awful facts are there just isn't enough money in entitlement programs to
support even the people who are completely destitute, much less the working
poor. And starting with Reagan and his trickle down theory, wealth has only
moved upward. Safety nets are being funded less and less; the gov't allows
major corporations to maintain profits to shareholders by reneging on
pension and insurance agreements, and fewer companies are even offering
pensions or even matching 401K contributions. There are no exemptions from
penalties when these personal retirement funds need to be eached for
emergency reasons (health, disaster, etc), but there are tax breaks galore
for oil companies posting the largest profits ever in recorded history...
The absurdity astounds me!

Just as absurd,,,, in Houston, Texas just one hospital where charity
patients go to get FREE care has turned in a yearly cost of $100 million
dollars for a year just to cover the Emergency ward where they are treated
and their children are born.   It is like that in lots of towns across
Texas, New Mexico, Ariz, and Calf.  We are 15 years late in building that
fence and the money that might go for the disabled is being ate up by the
flow of people fleeing the communist governments to our south and not just
Mexico.   There are too many different things that the gov. is not taking
good care of and people will listen again to people that think that
socialism is the answer.   Just name me one place on this earth where it has
worked well.  No,,, don't but  just learn from what is going to take place.

No I don't Adelle,

Thanks again all for all the support and prayers and advice etc.

I am still not doing good and I am not sure what will come out of this. I
thought I was doing so much better yesterday but today is not that great.

I am concerned so I need to talk to the oral surgeon. They want me to not
have any fluids from 12 till 8 in morning. That is a hard one to do and
especially now. Like last night I went to sleep at 12 and got up at 7:30.
Had to get up and drink a half bottle of pedialyte just to get my heartbeat
to settle back down again. Have been getting up at times in morning and
pulse will be 126 until I get enough fluids in. Then it slows down to about
90 something. No one seems to be concerned about this but me.

Tell him I said no you were not losing your mind. It has been terrible here
and I am sure Jo has been suffering too. It looks like it might be hotter up
there. We have been having up to 108 days here.

My car registered 102 here in Montgomery, AL a couple of days ago also,
Duckie.  I know when I stepped outside it felt like an oven just hot on my
skin.  Poor SJ.
