Hi,
I am planning to buy a thermophore kit for my mom who is suffering
with arthritis. She has lot of pain in knee joints. She is around 60
yrs old. I want to know if it is safe to use and if its a good
product...
Thanks,

I LOVE my Thermaphore. If you wash the outside cover in Woolite it stays
clean and nice and gets just the right amount of damp.
It's safer than most heating pads because you must hold down the lever
for heating and if you let go the heating stops. But like all heating pads
it's not for use by those who aren't fully aware of their surroundings or
those that suffer loss of sensation in the extremities because they can get
burned without knowing it.
You can't go to sleep with it on ( it shuts off when you let go) so for
that and that it's moist and not dry heat it's worth the extra $$.
Hugs from Rosie

I have never used that brand, but moist heat is excellent so it will
probably work. Many of us use rice socks for mobile heat. You fill a
cotton tube sock with rice (about 1 to 1.5 lbs of rice) sew or tie off
the end put in the microwave for about a minute, it will warm for
about 30 minutes. You can put in some herbs for aroma therapy and
really make it nice. It would be a nice addition to the electric pad.
