New orthotics and first shoe fitting

I had new orthotics made to accomodate the lump on the bottom of my
foot. I wore them all day yesterday, and found them to be very
comfortable.

I also went for my first fitting of my custom made shoes. My toes fall
off  the shoe on the right side (they are three strap sandals) so the
sole will need to be redone. My next fitting is July 3. I originally
went to the shoe "maker" in March, but with his schedule and mine ws
not able to have a fitting until now. The shoes are very basic, but I
shudder to think what the cost will be once they are done.

It was a very long day as I went on the bus that left at 3:40 am.
Prior to that I did not sleep as a dog somewhere in the neighbourhood
was barking his head off, and my alarm went off at 2. I may have slept
for an hour. Even with a good night's sleep last night I am paying the
price this morning. I am having a tough time walking, and still really
sleepy, but duty calls. Fortunately Tuesday is the day I get my "prep
time" for one 45 minute period, so do have a bit of down time.

I know whine, whine, whine.

The good news is that we have had rain almost daily so everything is
nice and green.

Hi Rose,
I picked up orthodics on Fri. and am supposed to wear them a couple hours
longer each day. He has designed them with a high arch and to take the
pressure off my heals (plantar facitis). They are really doing a number on
my back muscles though. Even my codeine won't touch the pain.
Glad to hear yours are doing so well.

Were your's custom made, Becky? The OT made mine to fit my shoes. They
will need to be cut down a bit when my new shoes are finished, but
that is ok.

Yes mine are custom made, but they are still giving me fits, I can only wear
them in one pair of tennis shoes for some reason.
Glad yours are working,
Becky
