Spent the afternoon alone [John in flight to San Antonia for business]
signing over one hundred sheets of paper to put in an offer on a home
here. Doubt if we will get this one but we have learned a lot in a short
time. My hand hurts but I am on my third glass of wine so beginning to
feel better. lol
Hope I sleep tonight.
And no - I don't know if I want you to pray for a yes outcome or a no
outcome. lol Must be the wine speaking.

I think I will be praying for reasonable mortgage payments! Yikes I
can only imagine prices in the Bay area. Keep us posted on how this
goes. -- MZ

How do you like the area? I am also praying that Jeff will be working

Did I not mention Jeff's job? He starts for TellTale Games on June 20th
with benefits and all. He has been working as a contractor for a couple
of companies and was busy but always worried when the jobs were over and
nothing to do for a week. lol Now he is worried he will be fired the
first day on the job. Always something.

No you did not mention it until now! You have been holding out on
us. Great to hear he landed a good job with benefits, now maybe you
can start thinking about grand kids, assuming he makes it past the
first week of his job.....LOLOL Jennifer must be very happy maybe in
30 to 50 years they can afford a mortgage. So did they accept your
offer????
I did a great trip on the Owyhee this spring, that river is one of my
favorites, spectacular... one of the most beautiful and remote desert
rivers. We are busy, busy preparing to do the Tatshenshini in
Alaska, a 12 day raft trip and we will be picked up by plane. This is
the most remote trip we have ever done, so we are excited. There
should be loads of brown bear and moose. If John gets some time off
he should join us for one of the shorter trips maybe another Rogue
trip. -- MZ

Can't believe I didn't -- I think I emailed the world. lol
Won't know about the house for a bit. They are taking offers tomorrow
evening. I spent the day collecting paper work and then driving up to
San Mateo to the money guy. He gave me more paper work but that can't be
finished signing till John returns. The good news is that we signed
papers for him last December when we were first here so he has those
albeit out of date.
I cleaned out my private savings account today in preparation for
writing the 3% check. John couldn't get into his in time before he left
so I emptied mine. Sure hope the fee for going below the min is not too
bad. I guess that is the least of my worries.
Also went birthday shopping for my brother. Then tried to get boxes out
of the rafters for shipping. Did something funny to my thumb on my left
hand. I have iced it and then rummaged around till I found a finger
brace that fits the thumb to keep it straight. Feels better that way for
now. With luck all will be better tomorrow.
Sure hope I sleep well tonight. It has been a restless few.
John has been looking at sea kayaks. Your friend that white water canoes
-- what brand of sea kayak does he have? John found most felt sluggish
and the vendor told him that was probably because he was used to the
white water canoe and had great balance. Therefore he didn't need the
balance help some kayak afford which tends to make them not respond
quickly. But the ones he tried that were more responsive put his feet or
knees to sleep. So we are still a two canoe family. lol Email him and
ask him if he wants to go on a short run. It is still the duke addy.

well, I hadn't heard either! You must have been so excited, you had to get
the email off fast! LOL That's great news that he has a full blown job.
Hopefully once he gets past the first month, the fears of losing it
immediately will pass!
Keep us posted on the house.

Been trying to recover from last week. I was exhausted and after all
that we did not get the house. They counteroffered two of us and our
counteroffer to the counteroffer was the low one. They called and said
if we would go 10K above our counter we could have it. I said no way was
I going to play that game. So I have been laying low and resting. Hope I
won't have to do that again without John being home. Of course, some of
the running around was to get the mortgage guy up to speed and now that
is done and won't need to be redone but still...
I am still tired. Frankly, I have been that way since I dropped from 8mg
to 7mg and that was over a month ago. I seem to have energy in the
morning which is odd but by 1 I am just sitting.
Maybe a nap. I haven't been able to actually nap during the day in this
house since we moved. And no, I have no idea why.

Hunh. We're selling our house in Gainesville - got two offers Thursday but
our agent told us we could only counter on one of them. Didn't matter too
much for us though as he advised against countering on the one seeking VA
financing anyway. I wonder if it's just because the market is so hot out
there that they allow it or what. Heh, we can't believe what our little
chinchbug house is selling for - twice what it was valued at when we left 6
years ago, 4x the value back in 1990. It's just nuts.
Hey, if you can't figure out a way to nap in your current place, can you
split your pred dose and have an afternoon "booster"? Or maybe just have a
"quiet hour" in the afternoon, doing nothing but listening to quiet music or
such. Sometimes even when I can't nap that will help a bit. Then again -
the balance I'd happily found for a couple of years has fallen all to pieces
the past 5-6 months, so what do I know?

well, it seems teh fibro has been flaring ever since we took me off the mtx
thanks to my albumin dipping alarmingly low. makes me wonder more about the
inter-relationship between PsA and fibro (or fibro-like symptoms). Don't see
my RD again until early August - I hope I get him again rather than the PA as
he's more informed for such discussions.

The housing market is insane! When my Mom and I were selling the house
we had it on the market and no one offered us near what the real estate
had it going for. Now, it's like if you want a house you have to put an
offer in that's at least 10K over the asking price.
I just moved into a new apartment. I'm SO glad the move is over. I don't
think I could have taken another day of all the stress. Thank God for
friends!! I never could have done it alone. My hip was killing me and
with the shortness of breath I have from my congestive heart failure, I
could only do a little at a time. My friends were great though. They
came and took stuff to the dumpster for me and helped pack and load up
the cars.
Now I'm in my nice new apartment which I love even though on my first
morning a pipe burst and the water from my shower flooded the apartment
downstairs. So now I have no shower. They have to come and fix it
tomorrow. But I've decided that tomorrow I'm going to stay in my robe
all day and have, what they call in England, a lie in. I'm going to do
nothing but put my feet up and relax!
And Duckie, you'll have to come and visit! I have DUCKS!!!! :-))) There
is a pond behind my apartment and the ducks come out of the pond every
afternoon to sun themselves. They lay right under my deck :-)) They are
so cute! :-))

I am soooo glad you have got that move over with. Was worried over you
and glad it is now done.
Was trying to have a lie in this morning when John woke me because the
gardner had finally arrived after I asked him for help over a month ago.
I supervised his pruning and weeding and I cut back the rose bushes. The
place looks grand and I am tired but it is a different tired which is good.

Thanks, I'm glad too! I have a lot of boxes here, but I am just going to
slowly unpack it all. My friends are coming over later as there is
still stuff in the trunk of my car and they are going to help me unpack
and put stuff away :)

I think it was her pred she dropped on, in her continuing quest to maintain
at a lower dose.

No prednisone. You wouldn't think that one little mg would make this
much difference.
I am at 5mg of Remicade and holding there due in large part to Rituxan.

I hope it all works out for the best for you and John - whatever the best
might be! I don't envy you trying to buy a home in the CA market! Friends
from high school have lived in San Ramon for about 20 years now - I think
periodically about how their home value has increased in that time!
Damn, I envy you the wine! When they took me off mtx due to low albumin
levels, I was hoping I'd be legal to drink again, but my albumin still runs
low so I haven't dared to start tippling more.
